Transcription: by leaving it be just the names and yourself reflected in the names. I didn't see it as abstract, but one of the most real ways of bringing anyone who was involved or knew someone involved in that war back to a point. Like a name evokes every individual person that served and also the people who didn't die remember their friends who did.
