Transcription: The coldest of all the biomes is the tundra, found in the Arctic regions of North America, Europe and Asia. Winter temperatures average minus 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Tundra soil is permanently frozen except for a thin layer that thaws briefly during the short, cool summer. There are no trees on the tundra. They cannot tolerate the harsh winter winds and ice. But lichens, moss and low-growing shrubs manage to survive. Most tundra and animals such as caribou migrate farther south during winter to find food.
