Transcription: From 300 to 900 AD, the Maya classic culture flourished in the forests of what are today southern Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize. At the heart of Mayan cities were striking stone pyramids that served as temples. The Maya had strong religious traditions, worshipping many gods who represented different aspects of life. Using their expert knowledge of mathematics and astronomy, they developed an extremely accurate calendar.
