- THE PRINTER OPTION
-
- If you have a printer connected, point and click on Printer On from the
- menu that appears.
-
- NEW GAME/LOADING A SAVED GAME
-
- The next menu gives you the chance to start a completely new game or load a
- previously saved game.
-
- 1. NEW GAME
-
- You will be asked how many players are to participate (maximum four).
- Each then chooses a club (click on a club name), his/?her personality
- and second name. Next, you are asked to inseret a blank disk,
- (see Formating a Blank Disk). This disk is known as the Season Disk
- since it will contain data relevant to the season currently being
- played.
- If you insert a previously used season disk, the previous season data
- will be erased (see Main Menu).

- 2. LOAD SAVED GAME
-
- Insert your season disk as requested. Play resumes at the main menu
- (see The Main Menu).
-
- 3. FORMATING A BLANK DISK TO SAVE A GAME
-
- To create a saved game you will need to format a blank disk,to do this
- follow the instructions below.
-
- Amiga
-
- Insert Workbench disk DFO. When loaded eject disk and insert a blank
- disk in DFO,click on DFO disk then click on menu bar with right mouse
- button to highlight Disk, then highlight Initialize on the pull down
- menu.
-
- Atari ST
-
- Insert blank disk in drive A,from the TOS scren click on floppy disk
- A. Move the pointer onto File and click on OK. Select double sided and
- click on format.
-

- Proceeds to the next set of fixtures.

- VIEW TABLES

- A variety of club/player tables to look at.
- Notes:-
- .In the case of league division tables click on -DIV or + DIV to
- change division.
- .When viewing the manager rankings table, click on -SCR or + SCR to
- display a different portion of the table.
- When viewing the Domark Trophy group tables click on -SCR +SCR to show
- other tables.
- .Click on PRT from the league table to print out the league table
- being displayed(if printer option was selected-se start up).

- Clicking on a players name will cap up his factfile screen(see the factfile).

- (i) Click on a shirt number.
- (ii) Click on the player who is going to wear the shirt.

- TO UNSELECT A PLAYER

- (i) Click on CLR.
- (II) Click on the shirt of the player who you,want to deselect.

- TO SWAP PLAYERS SHIRTS

- (i) Click on the first shirt number.
- (ii) Click on SWP.
- (iii) Click on the second shirt number.

- TO ALLOCATE A PLAYER

- (ii) Click on the position icons (eg for right back click on DEF and on
- RIGHT).......
- NOTE:-You cannot have more than a certain number of shirts allocated to a given
- position.If you try to allocate a shirt to a position you may get a
- ``position occupied``message.
- To avoid this,use the SWAP WITH facility to swap positions around
- achieve the desired information.....

- NOTE:- You can`t push your sweeper or goalkeeper forward........

- TO PULL A PLAYER BACK

- (i) Click on the shirt number of the player to be pulled back
- (ii) Click on the BACK box
- a left facing arrow appears on the diagram

- NOTE:-you can`t pull a sweeper or a goal keeper back

- TO STOP A PLAYER BEING PUSHING FORWARD/BACK
- (i) Click on the shirt number of the player
- (i) Click on the NORM box

- NOTES:- pushing a player forward means he will be spending more time
- in a more forward position and less in a defensive position

- SAME APPLY TO PULLING A PLAYER BACK

- TO MAKE A SUBSTITUTION/TACTICAL MOVE

- In the case of two human controlled-clubs playing,click the left mouse-
- button or hold down ``H`` for a home substitution/tactical move or
- click the right mouse button or hold down ``A`` for a away
- subsitution/tactical move.
- In the case of a human controlled- club playing a computer team,click
- any mouse button for a substitution/tactical move.
- A menu then appears letting you make a tactical move/sub,see your oppents
- team or view the match stats screen....

- (i) Click on the shirt number of the player to be removed

- Use this option when you are 6-0 down with 20 minutes still to go
- hold down the SPACEBAR and then the minutes will go quicker.....

- THE MATCH STATISTICS SCREEN

- The match statistics screen gives you information about each team`s
- performance and all so tells you how well idividual players played.
-
- Each player is given a match rating from 1-10. These are shown to the
- right of each player`s name.

- Additionally, the following abbreviations may appear to the immediate
- right of each player`s name:

- Finally the attendance is displayed at the bottom.

- THE PLAYER SEARCH

- The player search facility is designed to help you find player`s to buy.
- It is called up by selecting ``find player`` from the main menu.And
- clicking on ``player search.

- You will be presented a series of menu`s asking you to specify the
- required position(s), attribute(s), value range(s), search division(s),
- A list will be displayed, Clicking on a players name to display his facts
- click on -SCR or +SCR to show more of the list and click on RECS
- repeatedly to see if any of your scouts recommend any of the players
- displayed............

- THE SHORTLIST
-
- The shortlist is a list of possible buys drawn up by the manager...
-

- To view the shortlist, click on ``find player`` from the main menu
- and then on ``the shortlist``.......

- Click on a player name to display his factfile and click on ADD..

- To remove a player from your shortlist, call up your shortlist
- click on DEL and then click on a name of the player you want removed..

- THE TRANSFER LIST

- The transfer list is a list of players who are for sale
-
- Call it up by selecting ``find player`` from the main menu
- and then clicking on the ``transfer list``.

- The list will be displayed. Click on a player name to display his facts.
- Click on -SCR or +SCR to show more of the list,of the players displayed.

- BUYING A PLAYER
-
- To buy a player you must have his fact-file screen displayed.
-

- PAGE 18 BUYING A PLAYER

- APPROACHING
-
- Click on BUY to approach the player. You will then be informed how much
- money you have availableand asked to confirm that you want to approach.
-
- The club then decides if it is willing to release him, and if it is the
- player decides if he wants to join you.
-
- If the player is at a human-cnotrolled club, a menu will appear allowing
- you to accept or refuse the approach.
-
- You cannot refuse an approach to a player who is out of contract.
-
- OTHER BIDDERS
-
- Any other clubs who have the player on their shortlist are given a
- chance to join in the bidding.In case of Human-controlled clubs, a
- menu appear giving you the chance to approach the player.
- If he is interested,then you will be able to bid for the player
-
- NEGOTIATING THE FEE
-
- Assuming, the player is not on a free transfer, the clubs then agree
- a fee for the player.
- Firstly each of the bidding clubs makes an offer.
- Secondly, the selling clubs sets an asking price
-
- The pocess is repeated until:-
- a)A fee is agreed.
- b)No agreement is reached after several rounds of negotiations.
- If no fee has been agreed and the player is out of contract, the
- inderpendent tribunal set the fee.

- THE NEGOTIATIONS SCREEN
-
- The negotiations screen is used for setting player asking prices,making
- offers and negotiationing player`s contract.

- THE PLAYER STATUS MENU

- The player status menu is called by clicking on STA from any of your
- own player`s factfile screens (see~~The Player Factfile``).

- THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE:-

- This puts the player on the transfer list. You must decide on asking
- prices for him. As a guide, look at the coache`s estimation of
- his value - shown on the factfile screen.

- REMOVE FROM LIST

- Removes the player from the transfer list.

- NOTE:- If the player is out of contract he has the right to refuse
- coming off....

- REVALUE HIM

- Allows you to change the valuation of a transfer listed player.
- Display switches to the asking price screen from which
- you can his valuation........

- NOT FOR SALE
-
- This option prevents approaches to the player from other clubs(ie they
- are told he is not for sale at any price).

- ALLOW APPROACHES
-
- Click on this to reverse the effect of not for sale,this allowing
- clubs to approach him again........

- PAGE 20 THE PLAYER STATUS MENU

- FINE HIM
-
- If you feel the player deserves a fine, then this option will dock
- a week`s wages (you can only dock 1 week at a time).

- INSURE HIM
-
- Insures the player against injury. You will be told the cost per week
- of insuring him, and then asked for confirmation.
-
- UNINSURE HIM
-
- Removes the insurance.
-
- INCREASE WAGE
-
- Gives you the chance to increase the players weekly wage.
- Display switches the wage negotiation screen from which you adjust wage.
-
- RENEW CONTRACT
-
- Allows you to negotiate a new contract for the player, If he is out of
- contract.
- Display switches first to contract lenght negotiation screen, And
- then to the wage negotiation screen.

- PLAYER REQUESTS
-
- Your player`s may make a request to leave(if not tranfer listed) or
- to stay(if transfer listed), at any time during the season.
-
- A menu will appear giving you the chance to accept or decline his
- request.
-
- You cannot refuse a player`s request to leave if out of contract.
-
- THE PLAYER FACTFILE
-
- The player factfile displays details about a player`s abilities, status
- and recent history. It is also used for buying,transfer listing the
- general manager interaction.
