  1. HOW TO INSTALL EZ-SPLIT:
  2.  
  3. If you are reading this file, then you have uncompressed ESxxxSW.ZIP,
  4. (where xxx is the version number) and should now have the
  5. following 3 files on your hard drive:
  6.  
  7. 1. INSTALL.TXT (You're reading this now)
  8. 2. READ.ME     Information file
  9. 2. SETUP.EXE   Setup program for EZ-Split
  10.  
  11. To install EZ-Split, start windows.  Then, from the Program Manager
  12. select [F]ile, [R]un, then type "SETUP" (include the path to the
  13. SETUP.EXE program if necessary) and hit [ENTER].
  14.  
  15. When EZ-Split installation is complete, you will have a "EZ-Split"
  16. group added to your desktop.  To run EZ-Split, double click the
  17. 'EZ-Split' icon in this group.  For help on using EZ-Split, double
  18. click the 'EZ-Split Help' icon in this group.  Help is available from
  19. anywhere within EZ-Split by pressing 'F1' or the 'Help' button
  20. (if there is one displayed).

  22. INSTALLATION DIFFICULTIES
  23. -------------------------

  25. SETUP PROGRAM REPORTS "OLD FILE FORMAT" AND EXITS
  26.  
  27. This message relates to CTL3DV2.DLL, and is telling you that the
  28. CTL3DV2.DLL file on your system is old.  Find all instances of
  29. CTL3DV2.DLL on your system and delete them.  Then re-run the
  30. setup program.
  31.  
  32. EZ-SPLIT DISPLAYS "CTL3DV2.DLL NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED"
  33.  
  34. This message tells you that the file CTL3DV2.DLL exists somewhere
  35. on your system besides your windows SYSTEM directory.  Find all
  36. instances of CTL3DV2.DLL and delete them.  If CTL3DV2.DLL exists
  37. in your SYSTEM directory, leave it there.  If it doesn't exist,
  38. re-run the setup program.

  40. UPON STARTUP, EZ-SPLIT REPORTS "[filename] IS OUT OF DATE..."
  41.  
  42. This message means that the file [filename] is old.  Find all
  43. instances of the file on your system and delete them.  Then re-run
  44. the setup program.  Good places to look are the WINDOWS
  45. directory and any directories in your path.
