To delete a definition from the database first you must select it, this is done by searching for it in the normal way so that is appears in the output box, then you can select the trash icon from the icon bar or use the menu option Definition, delete. The delete screen shows you which word you have chosen to delete, if you change your mind you can get out by just pressing Cancel or to complete the delete click on the Delete button.
