- If you copy this program then please copy RUNME.README file
-
- RUNME has been compacted to save disk space, this causes a slight delay
- whilst de-compacting.RUNME also needs the Diskfont.library to be in
- libs drawer .
-
- RUNME is a helpful utility written to allow programs to be launched from
- Workbench without having to open the required drawers. It will probably be
- of more use to people with Hard Drives, because of the amount of data stored
- on this medium.
- The program itself can be started from either the cli or workbench.
- From the cli or your startup-sequence type
-
- run >NIL: <NIL: <enter full path here>/Runme
-
- eg run >NIL: <NIL: dh0:s/Runme This will look in the S drawer on Dh0:
- Note This will only work if your Workbench screen is open.
-
- From Workbench just click on the RUNME icon.
-
- The program requires a list to allow it to run correctly. This list is called
- Buttonlist and should be in your sys:S drawer (where your startup-sequence is)
- This list can be created using any text editor. If this list is not present the
- program will not run.
-
- The format of this list is as follows
-
- Program name (No more or less than 7 letters,if less use spaces). Followed by
- the "|" symbol (shift \ next to the backspace key).Followed by
- The full path for your program.
-
- eg if you wanted Deluxe Paint to be the 1st on the list, and the program was
- located in your Art drawer then the first line of your buttonlist would look
- like this
-
- DPAINT |DH0:ART/Deluxepaint
-
- if you want the program to run in the background (so you can mulitask) then
- type
-
- DPAINT |RUN <NIL: Dh0:ART/Deluxepaint
-
- Here is a sample list
-
- Opus |Run <NIL: Dh0:opus
- Cygnus |run <NIL: DH0:ced
- Propage|run <NIL: Dh1:dtp/ppage/ppage
- Dpaint |run <NIL: dh1:dpaint
- ScreenX|run <NIL: dh1:art/utils/screenx
- Icons |run <NIL: Dh0:tools/icons
- 60Hz |dh0:c/60hz
- AtariEm|dh0:c/atem
- ParkDh0|dh0:h.d.utils/park dh0:
- ParkDh1|dh0:h.d.utils/park dh1:
-
- This list can be as long as required. If you have a very long list, you can use
- the scroll arrows at the side to find the program name.
-
- Using RUNME
-
- Once your list is made, and sitting in the S drawer you are ready to go.
- When you run the RUNME program you will see a long window open down the left
- side of the screen, within this window is another window containing your list
- of programs.Along the right hand edge is a scroll bar and arrows. In the top
- right hand corner is a small box marked GO.
-
- First decide which program to run and click on its name to highlight it,you
- will also notice that the name has been copied to the top of the window.
- Now,to run the program, click on the box marked GO.
-
- If you click your right mouse button while the RUNME window is activated you
- get a small menu bar.The 3 options available at present are:-
-
- Iconize This makes the RUNME window into a small icon which is placed in
- the top left of the Workbench screen. To enlarge the window just click once
- on the icon.
-
- Newlist This allows you to enter the full path and name of your optional
- list.RUNME will then use this list.If you quit RUNME or re-boot your
- machine RUNME will revert to the Default setting of "SYS:s/buttonlist".
-
- About This just shows a window with the current Version of RUNME.
-
- You may see another menu item marked CONTROLS,this is reserved for future use.
