- Contents of the Client Customization Kit CD

- * The Client Customization Kit folder contains the installer for the
- software. With this installer, you can install
-
- -Netscape Configuration Editor
- -Netscape Install Builder (for Windows only)
- -Netscape Account Setup Editor
-
- The installer allows you to install some or all of these components.
-
- * Before you install the Client Customization Kit, you MUST install
- the version of Netscape Communicator that you received as a part of
- the Client Customization Kit product. That version of Communicator
- includes plug-ins and other software that enable some of the tools
- to run.
-
- * The Printable Docs (prntdocs) folder contains FrameMaker and HTML
- files of the end-user book "Introduction to Communicator." You can
- customize and distribute either version of the book for your users.

- * The Install Shell on the Windows CD (see the next section for details
- about launching the shell on Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0) provides
- access to additional items on the CD, such as customizable shell
- software, third-party bonus plug-in installers, and other ISP tools,
- including a registration server tool. Windows NT 3.5.1 users can browse
- the directories on the CD for these items as well.

- Installation Instructions

- * You need at least 16 megabytes of RAM installed on your Mac OS
- or Windows system to run the Client Customization Kit tools.
-
- * You must have a current version of Communicator (included
- on the Customization Kit CD) installed on your system to run
- the tools. The version included is 4.04. The prebuilt versions of
- Communicator are included in the Comms directory of the CD for
- Windows and in the Communicators folder for the Mac OS. (If you're
- using Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0, you can install Communicator
- directly from the Install Shell, as explained below.)

- * To install the Client Customization Kit on Windows 95 and Windows
- NT 4.0, place the Client Customization Kit CD in your computer's
- CD-ROM drive and run SETUP.EXE, located on the root. In the Install
- Shell screen that opens, install Netscape Communicator and then
- install the Client Customization Kit. Do not use spaces when typing
- the installation path for Client Customization Kit.

- * To install the Client Customization Kit on Windows NT 3.5.1, place
- Client Customization Kit CD in your computer's CD-ROM drive and run
- SETUPCCK.EXE, located in the CCK directory. Do not use spaces when
- typing the installation path for Client Customization Kit.

- * To install the Client Customization Kit on the Mac OS, place the
- Client Customization Kit CD in your computer's CD-ROM drive. Open
- the Client Customization Kit folder and double-click the Client
- Customization Kit icon.

- About the Items in Printable Docs

- The Printable Docs (prntdocs) directory contains compressed FrameMaker
- and HTML versions of Communicator documentation for end-users. You can
- customize these documents to meet your needs, then distribute the
- documents in print or in HTML.

- You can uncompress the files in the following directories with any
- compression/decompression software that handles the .ZIP format,
- such as WinZip or StuffIt Deluxe.

- IN THE DIALUP DIRECTORY:

- Document name: Installation and Setup Guide
- Filename: due.zip
- Formats: ZIP archive containing FrameMaker 5 and HTML versions

- Notes: This document describes the proper installation and setup of
- a dial-up Communicator package. In the document, the dial-up
- Communicator package is referred to as Dial-Up Edition.

- To view the frameset of the HTML version, open the
- inst.htm file. To view the FrameMaker version, open the
- title.book file. The following Adobe Type 1 PostScript fonts are
- used: Gill Sans, Gill Sans Lite, Garamond, Courier, and Zapf Dingbats.
