  22.                 Contents of the Client Customization Kit CD

  26.     * The Client Customization Kit folder contains the installer for the
  27.      software. With this installer, you can install 
  28.  
  29.     -Netscape Configuration Editor      
  30.     -Netscape Install Builder (for Windows only)
  31.     -Netscape Account Setup Editor 
  32.  
  33.     The installer allows you to install some or all of these components. 
  34.  
  35.     * Before you install the Client Customization Kit, you MUST install 
  36.     the version of Netscape Communicator that you received as a part of 
  37.     the Client Customization Kit product. That version of Communicator 
  38.     includes plug-ins and other software that enable some of the tools 
  39.     to run. 
  40.  
  41.     * The Printable Docs (prntdocs) folder contains FrameMaker and HTML 
  42.     files of the end-user book "Introduction to Communicator." You can 
  43.     customize and distribute either version of the book for your users.
  44.  
  45.     * The Install Shell on the Windows CD (see the next section for details
  46.     about launching the shell on Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0) provides 
  47.     access to additional items on the CD, such as customizable shell 
  48.     software, third-party bonus plug-in installers, and other ISP tools, 
  49.     including a registration server tool. Windows NT 3.5.1 users can browse
  50.     the directories on the CD for these items as well.

  54.                      Installation Instructions 
  55.  
  56.     ==================================================================

  58.     * You need at least 16 megabytes of RAM installed on your Mac OS 
  59.     or Windows system to run the Client Customization Kit tools.    
  60.  
  61.     * You must have a current version of Communicator (included 
  62.     on the Customization Kit CD) installed on your system to run 
  63.     the tools. The version included is 4.04. The prebuilt versions of 
  64.     Communicator are included in the Comms directory of the CD for 
  65.     Windows and in the Communicators folder for the Mac OS. (If you're 
  66.     using Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0, you can install Communicator 
  67.     directly from the Install Shell, as explained below.)

  69.     * To install the Client Customization Kit on Windows 95 and Windows 
  70.     NT 4.0, place the Client Customization Kit CD in your computer's 
  71.     CD-ROM drive and run SETUP.EXE, located on the root. In the Install 
  72.     Shell screen that opens, install Netscape Communicator and then 
  73.     install the Client Customization Kit. Do not use spaces when typing 
  74.     the installation path for Client Customization Kit.

  76.     * To install the Client Customization Kit on Windows NT 3.5.1, place
  77.     Client Customization Kit CD in your computer's CD-ROM drive and run 
  78.     SETUPCCK.EXE, located in the CCK directory. Do not use spaces when 
  79.     typing the installation path for Client Customization Kit.

  81.     * To install the Client Customization Kit on the Mac OS, place the 
  82.     Client Customization Kit CD in your computer's CD-ROM drive. Open 
  83.     the Client Customization Kit folder and double-click the Client 
  84.     Customization Kit icon.

  111.     The Printable Docs (prntdocs) directory contains compressed FrameMaker 
  112.     and HTML versions of Communicator documentation for end-users. You can 
  113.     customize these documents to meet your needs, then distribute the 
  114.     documents in print or in HTML.

  116.     You can uncompress the files in the following directories with any
  117.     compression/decompression software that handles the .ZIP format,
  118.     such as WinZip or StuffIt Deluxe.
