  1.              Important Notice on PowerLook 1100 with 
  2.                   FireWire (1394) interface Scanner

  4. For Mac users (For Mac OS 9 or later users, please skip this section)

  6. 1. If you are using Mac OS 8.6 or older Version, your FireWire Extension (FireWire Support, Firewire Enabler) version could be 2.0 or older version. To have FireWire scanner work properly, the FireWire Extension must be at least 2.1 or later.

  8. 2. The name of FireWire Support and Enabler are different for each different language system. You would not install for example English version of FireWire Support and Enabler into French system. You must install the correct language of FireWire Support and Enabler into the language system you are using. Please go the Apple Website for each country to download the latest FireWire Extension installer for your language system to install the FireWire Support and Enabler.

  10. 3. If you can't find the FireWire installer for the language system you use, please do the following steps:

  12. a. Move out the FireWire Enabler and Support for the language system you use from the Extension folder, say for example French System, move out the file named Activateur FireWire, Gestion FireWire.

  14. b. Then drop the English version of FireWire Enabler and Support included in MagicScan CD into Extensions folder of System.

  16. For Power Macintosh users Using 1394 OHCI card

  18. For Mac users who use 1394 OHCI card, the version of FireWire Extension must be at least 2.3 or later, please go to Apple Web site to download the extension.
