  6. This is a second upload, without the requestchoice command, since this
  7. tool was included in the OS 2.1 distribution (I didn't know that).
  8. Except for 1 spelling mistake,  everything is just the same, so if you
  9. already installed the previous (1.22) version,  you  do  not  need  to
  10. install this version at all!
  11.  
  12. DiskSqueeze is a combination of several tools that combine  the  power
  13. of  the  LZX compression algorithm with the flexibility of the PackDev
  14. disk-imager. All necessary software is present in this archive, except
  15. the LZX program (see Aminet: util/arc).
  16.  
  17. Those not interested in  another  disk-compression  program  as  such,
  18. might  take  a  look at the very useful utilities included here, since
  19. some of these were not released on Aminet before.
  20.  
  21. This version includes a workaround  to fix a possible bug in  PackDev,
  22. which prevented correct interpretation of mixed-mode filesystem disks.
  23.  
  24. Those who already have installed DiskSqueeze v1.21 on  their  system,
  25. can just replace the main file 'DiskSqueeze' with  the  new one,  and
  26. don't forget to use PackDev 1.8 instead of the buggy 1.7!!!!!!!!!

  28. DiskSqueeze version 1.22 is a minor update of v1.21,  which is a major
  29. update of v1.01  of  this  ultimate 'kick-ass'  disk storage solution,
  30. with following enhancements:

  32. - writing to disk goes 100% faster
  33. - DMS-archives (any version) transparantly handled
  34. - DMS-archives can be automatically converted to DiskSqueeze-archives
  35. - no memory (or disk) required to handle DMS-archives
  36. - buggy DMS executable no longer needed to handle DMS-archives
  37. - DiskSqueeze-archive TEST option added
  38. - File_ID.DIZ option added
  39. - now using assembler-tools for extra speed (thanks Jorma!)
  40. - several bugfixes, enhancements and new extras (see docs)
