  9.   beginning  with an underscore serve a different purpose but are also  listed
  10.   below.

  16.   Lots of useful bits and pieces for enhancing the use of Calamus 1.09 and SL.
  17.   Some are specific to one or other version but several are useful with either

  24.   Adequate Systems Modules - A collection of (mostly) demo add on modules  for
  25.   use  with the 1993/1994 releaseS of Calamus SL.  They only work  with  these
  26.   version of SL. All modules are in German but we've done a RUF translation of
  27.   what little docs there are. Most docs are supplied as (German) HLP files for
  28.   use with Calamus's on-line hypertext Help module which is included with  the
  29.   demo version of SL.  Most are full implementations apart from the fact  that
  30.   they   print  the  adequate  systems  logo  over  your   page.   Some   have
  31.   different/other  restrictions.  The  full versions of these modules  may  be
  32.   ordered from Image Applications (the new distributors of Calamus in the UK).

  38.   EDDIE  -  A  demo  version of a text editor which can  be  used  to  replace
  39.   PKSWrite.  The  interface is rather strange at first but don't let that  put
  40.   you  off.  It's just brimming with features.  With the demo version you  can
  41.   edit  text and try out the features but you can't place the text  back  into
  42.   the document. This version is for use with the 1993 version of Calamus SL.

  50.   EDDIE.FNT - The Eddie text editor can use different fonts.  This font is  an
  51.   alternative to the one supplied with the demo.

  55.   FILTER - This module adds basic image processing features to Calamus by  way
  56.   of  external  filters  (9 are supplied).  It's difficult to  know  what  the
  57.   individual  filters do and what restrictions apply but it should be  fun  to
  58.   play  around  with them!  This version is for use with the 1993  version  of
  59.   Calamus SL.

  67.   HIGHRES  - Lets you resize bitmapped graphics to any  resolution.  The  main
  68.   purpose  of  this is to optimise the graphic  for  printer  output.  Highres
  69.   scores in that it enhances the graphic (as far as is possible) to compensate
  70.   for  the higher resolution and avoid the usual blocky result when the  frame
  71.   size is maintained but the resolution increased.  Also features an  improved
  72.   version of the print dialog which supports background printing amongst other
  73.   things. This version is for use with the 1993 version of Calamus SL.

  81.   MERGE  - Allows you to create various effects with text frames  by  applying
  82.   colour  in a number of unique ways.  A little difficult trying to  work  out
  83.   what you're doing without a good English-German dictionary!  This version is

  92.   PAINT - You can set any colour to be transparent,  clone areas on an  image,

  108.   TIFF  DEMO  -  A  TIFF printer driver which lets you  export  your  page  in

  110.   compression  method used,  whether to output in RGB or CMYK and  much  more.

  263.   F_SCALE - A Handy  ACC for use with Calamus. It allows you to accurately re-
  264.   size frames by calculating the new height or width,  based upon the original
  265.   size. The benefit of using this over the proportional resize icon is that it
  266.   retains details of the original proportions just in case you need to  revert
  267.   back to them.

  388.   not  it  is  monospaced.  It's all in German but still  invaluable  for  the
  389.   printout.  Please  note that VDIFONT writes a temporary file to the path  it
  390.   was  run  from,  so it should ideally be run from a hard drive  or  a  blank
  391.   floppy.

  423.   and bitmap font types, tricks and tips and much more. This is not a guide to
  424.   setting up GDOS on your system,  it is intended for those of you who already
  425.   use GDOS and want to learn more about it.

  434.   only seems to work on some copies of v2.1!).

  442.   Oblique styles.  Limited in that larger files (bigger than about 37kB)  will
  443.   not  load  completely  and  converted copy-protected  fonts  will  not  work
  444.   properly in PageStream.

  452.   FONTKILL  by David Troy - When Pagestream exports a document  in  Postscript
  453.   format,  it embeds copies all the Postscript type 1 fonts into the file.  At
  454.   the bureau, they usually have to spend time removing these before they start
  455.   work.  What  this  program does is to let you remove Type 1 fonts  from  the
  456.   document,  resulting  in  smaller files and smaller time  charges  from  the
  457.   bureau. Needs 2 Meg.
