  1. LOCALIZATION OF SCREENTAB
  2. -------------------------
  3.  
  4. ScreenTab supports the new localization features of Workbench 2.1 and
  5. higher. If you want to translate the strings of the user interface into
  6. your language, you need Commodore's CatComp-Program and the following
  7. steps:
  8.  
  9. 1.  Load the file 'ScreenTab_Empty.ct' into any text editor.
  10.  
  11. 2.  Put the translation date in the first line (XX.XX.XX)
  12.     and your language in the line '## language X':
  13.     i.e. '## language svenska'
  14.  
  15. 3.  Put your name in the '(your name)'-field
  16.  
  17. 4.  Now you can see triples of lines each of them has the outfit:

  19.         <String-ID>         COMMODITY_DESCRIPTION
  20.         <Blank line>
  21.         <Text>              ; Application-Switching like Windoze
  22.  
  23.     Translate the <Text> into your language and put it in the blank
  24.     line without the semicolon. Now the triple could look so:
  25.  
  26.         <String-ID>         COMMODITY_DESCRIPTION
  27.         <Translated Text>   Wechseln von Anwendungen im Windows-Stil
  28.         <Text>              ; Application-Switching like Windoze
  29.  
  30. 5.  Do step 4 with every triple in the file.
  31.  
  32.     ATTENTION : ScreenTab needs special informations, if you want to
  33.                 handle the user interface with the keyboard:
  34.  
  35.                 - so if you want to use menu-shortcuts, put the
  36.                   shortcut character in front of the menu text and
  37.                   separate them with a '|'
  38.                 - for buttons and other gadgets put a '_' in front
  39.                   of the shortcut letter
  40.  
  41.                 Don't use one character for two or more gadgets/
  42.                 menus of a window !!!
  43.  
  44. 6.  If you've translated all the strings (poo !!!), save the file
  45.     with the new name 'ScreenTab_XXXXX.ct', where XXXXX stands for
  46.     your language (i.e. 'ScreenTab_Svenska.ct').
  47.  
  48. 7.  Now start the CatComp-Program within a CLI with the following
  49.     parameters (be sure that you're in the directory of your
  50.     CT-File):

  52.     CatComp  ScreenTab.cd ScreenTab_XXXXX.ct   (to be continued ...)
  53.             CATALOG LOCALE:Catalogs/XXXXX/ScreenTab.catalog NoOptim

  58.     Don't forget the NoOptim-Parameter !
