  5. Welcome to HiSoft BASIC!
  6.  
  7. This is the complete HiSoft BASIC compiler system that allows
  8. you to create, edit and compile modern, super-fast BASIC
  9. programs.  Owing to lack of space, we have omitted an
  10. extended 1Mb version of the BASIC system which has added
  11. features in the editor and allows the creation of truly
  12. stand-alone programs.  You can obtain this full version
  13. plus the complete 360-page, ring-bound manual directly from
  14. HiSoft - just use the coupon in your Amiga Computing.

  16. We have included a number of example programs in the Demos
  17. drawer to get you started.  Note that the HiSoft BASIC editor
  18. will use the ARP file requester if arp.library is installed in
  19. the libs directory; you can obtain this library by purchasing
  20. the manual and complete disk set - see your Amiga Computing
  21. for details.  The GetFile.bas example shows how to use
  22. this library from BASIC.

  24. The bmap files in the libs directory are required when
  25. compiling programs that use the operating system libraries.
  26. Compiled programs also require the hisoftbasic.library file to
  27. be in libs although the full version includes a compiler that
  28. does not have this restriction.  The mathieeedoubbas.library
  29. and mathieeedoubtrans.library are also required.
