  5.     kickdate - saves date to kickstart disk

  7. SYNOPSIS
  8.      kickdate set | get | getset
  9.  
  10. DESCRIPTION
  11.     Kickdate saves and retrieves the current system date stamp
  12.     to the first sector of the kickstart disk. This is handy
  13.     for A1000 users with autobooting hard drives, since it
  14.     can save the system time across system resets and power
  15.     cycles.

  17.     kickdate set
  18.         Writes the date stamp to the disk.
  19.  
  20.     kickdate get
  21.         Reads the date stamp from the disk.
  22.  
  23.     kickdate getset
  24.         Reads the date stamp from the disk, and stays
  25.         resident, updating the date on the disk every
  26.         five mintues.

  28.     The intended use is as follows:

  30.     In your startup sequence, place the command
  31.         run >nil: kickdate getset
  32.  
  33.         type
  34.         kickdate set
  35.         kickdate getset
  36.  
  37.     Now you are all set.

  40.     Kickdate is carefull not to scribble onto non-kickstart
  41.     disks. It can be removed by sending it a CTRL-C (by
  42.     using the break command).

  44.     Removeing it can take up to five minutes.
