- Prompt(V1.3) ARP User's Manual Prompt(V1.3)
-
-
-
- NAME
- Prompt - set the prompt for the CLI or Shell.
-
- SYNOPSIS
- Prompt "Prompt"
-
- DESCRIPTION
- Prompt sets a new prompt for the current CLI. Prompt with
- no argument resets the CLI prompt to the default, which is
- just "> ". Shells differ in their interpretation of special
- characters for the prompt. For example, the ARP Shell ASH
- will accept the following characters in its prompt string:
-
- %S or %P - expands to pathname of current directory
- %N - expands to current CLI number.
-
- ASH will also expand environment variables and do command
- substitution inside of a prompt. See the Ash Manual or the
- manual for your preferred shell for more information.
-
- NOTE that the ARP Prompt and CD no longer provide builtin
- support for "%P"; now you should use the capabilities
- provided by your CLI.
