  12.        pdfimages [options] PDF-file image-root
  13.  
  14. DESCRIPTION
  15.        Pdfimages saves images from  a  Portable  Document  Format
  16.        (PDF)  file  as  Portable  Pixmap  (PPM),  Portable Bitmap
  17.        (PBM), or JPEG files.
  18.  
  19.        Pdfimages reads the PDF file, scans  one  or  more  pages,
  20.        PDF-file,  and  writes one PPM, PBM, or JPEG file for each
  21.        image, image-root-nnn.xxx, where nnn is the  image  number
  22.        and xxx is the image type (.ppm, .pbm, .jpg).

  24. OPTIONS
  25.        -f number
  26.               Specifies the first page to scan.
  27.  
  28.        -l number
  29.               Specifies the last page to scan.
  30.  
  31.        -j     Normally,  all  images  are  written  as  PBM  (for
  32.               monochrome  images)  or  PPM  (for   non-monochrome
  33.               images)  files.   With  this  option, images in DCT
  34.               format are saved as JPEG files.  All non-DCT images
  35.               are saved in PBM/PPM format as usual.

  37.        -q     Don't print any messages or errors.

  39.        -h     Print usage information.  (-help is equivalent.)

  41. BUGS
  42.        With  the  -j  option,  the  PDF  image streams are copied
  43.        directly to the output files.  DCT images in PDF files may
  44.        use some non-standard JPEG features, so the resulting .jpg
  45.        files may not be too useful.
