  1. PROFESSOR IRIS' ANIMAL SAFARI CD-ROM      (PC)

  5. Professor Iris' Animal Safari requires:
  6. - Minimum 8MB of RAM
  7. - Windows 3.1 or greater
  8. - Super VGA video card runing in 640 X 480 with 256 colors.
  9.  
  10. The installer provided on this CD-ROM will install QuickTime 2.01. 
  11. QuickTime is required to run Professor Iris' Animal Safari. 
  12. Please be aware that for best performance, we recommend that
  13. you use the version of QuickTime that comes with your CD-ROM.
  14. Remember to restart your computer after installation.
  15.  
  16. We recommend turning off any screensavers when using this product.
  17.

  22. To use the installer:
  23. Before starting installation you should disable and Virus protection 
  24. software as it may cause the installer to not run properly.  From the file 
  25. menu choose File|Run and type in the drive letter of your CD-ROM followed 
  26. by \SETUP (i.e. D:\SETUP) and click the OK button. If you do not have 
  27. QuickTime 1.1 installed on your computer click the YES button to allow 
  28. the installer to install QuickTime onto your computer in the C:\QTW 
  29. directory.  If you already have a copy of QuickTime in the QTW directory 
  30. you will be asked if you want to replace it with the version on the 
  31. CD-ROM.  Once QuickTime has been installed, your AUTOEXEC.BAT file will 
  32. be backed up and a new AUTOEXEC.BAT file will be created.  This new 
  33. AUTOEXEC.BAT file will have all of the your original AUTOEXEC.BAT 
  34. information QTW the C:\QTW directory added to the path statement.  Once 
  35. this is done a Program Group called Professor Iris will be created, and 
  36. an icon will be made for Professor Iris' Animal Safari.  After 
  37. installation is complete you will need to restart your computer for the 
  38. changes in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file to take effect.

  69. Discovery Communications, Inc. LICENSE

  71. 1. GRANT OF LICENSE:  This Discovery Communications, Inc. License 
  72. Agreement ("License") permits you to use one copy of the specified 
  73. version of the Discovery Communications, Inc. product identified above 
  74. ("SOFTWARE", which includes at least one CD-ROM disc or may include one 
  75. or more floppy disks) on any single computer, provided the SOFTWARE is in 
  76. use on only one computer at a time. The SOFTWARE is "in use" on a computer 
  77. when it is loaded into the temporary memory (i.e., RAM) or installed in 
  78. permanent memory (e.g., hard disk, CD-ROM, or other storage device) of 
  79. that computer, except that a copy installed on a network server for the 
  80. sole purpose of distribution to other computers is not "in use".  If the 
  81. anticipated number of users of the SOFTWARE will exceed the number of 
  82. applicable Licenses, then you must have a reasonable mechanism or process 
  83. in place to assure that the number of persons using the SOFTWARE 
  84. concurrently does not exceed the number of Licenses.  If the SOFTWARE is 
  85. permanently installed on the hard drive or other storage device of a 
  86. computer (other than a network server) and one person uses that computer 
  87. more than 80% of the time it is in use, then that person may also use the 
  88. SOFTWARE on a portable or home computer.

  90. 2. COPYRIGHT.  The SOFTWARE is owned by Discovery Communications, Inc. or 
  91. its suppliers and is protected by United States copyright law and 
  92. international treaty provisions.  Therefore, you must treat the SOFTWARE 
  93. like any other copyrighted material (e.g., a book or musical recording).  
  94. You may not copy the CD-ROM disc portion of the SOFTWARE or the written 
  95. materials accompanying the SOFTWARE.

  97. 3. OTHER RESTRICTIONS.  You may not rent or lease the SOFTWARE without 
  98. Discovery Communications, Inc.ís prior written consent, but you may 
  99. transfer the SOFTWARE and accompanying written materials on a permanent 
  100. basis provided you retain no copies and the recipient agrees to the terms 
  101. of this Agreement.  You may not reverse engineer, decompile or 
  102. disassemble the SOFTWARE.  Any transfer of the SOFTWARE must include the 
  103. most recent update and all prior versions.
  104.  
  105. LIMITED WARRANTY
  106. ________________
  107. Discovery Communications, Inc. warrants to you, the original Licensee, 
  108. that the SOFTWARE will perform substantially in accordance with the 
  109. accompanying written materials for a period of 90 days from the date of 
  110. purchase.  If a disk is defective, Discovery Communications, Inc. will 
  111. replace the disk at no charge to you, if you return the disk to Discovery 
  112. Communications, Inc. at the address below with proof of purchase within 
  113. 90 days after you purchased it. Your sole and exclusive remedy, and 
  114. Discovery Communications, Inc.ís sole and exclusive liability, will be 
  115. either replacement of the disk or a refund of the purchase price in 
  116. accordance with this limited warranty.  This limited warranty gives you 
  117. specific legal rights.  You may have others which vary from state/country 
  118. to state/country.

  120. THE ABOVE WARRANTY IS THE ONLY WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION 
  121. OF ANY KIND WITH RESPECT TO THE SOFTWARE MADE BY DISCOVERY 
  122. COMMUNICATIONS, INC. OR ANYONE ELSE INVOLVED IN THE CREATION, 
  123. PRODUCTION, DELIVERY, OR LICENSING OF THE SOFTWARE.  
  124. FURTHERMORE, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES WITH RESPECT TO THE 
  125. SOFTWARE, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, 
  126. FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT OF THIRD 
  127. PARTY RIGHTS, ARE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMED.

  129. NEITHER DISCOVERY COMMUNICATIONS, INC. NOR ANYONE ELSE 
  130. INVOLVED IN THE CREATION, PRODUCTION, DELIVERY, OR LICENSING OF 
  131. THE SOFTWARE MAKES ANY WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION OF ANY 
  132. KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO THE QUALITY, 
  133. RELIABILITY, OR PERFORMANCE, OR THE MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS 
  134. FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSES OF THE SOFTWARE. THE SOFTWARE IS 
  135. LICENSED "AS IS." YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY, 
  136. RELIABILITY, AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SOFTWARE.

  138. DISCLAIMER OF DAMAGES

  142. THE SOFTWARE BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, 
  143. INCIDENTAL, DIRECT, OR INDIRECT DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT 
  144. OF THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF Discovery Communications, Inc. OR 
  145. ANYONE ELSE INVOLVED IN THE CREATION, PRODUCTION, DELIVERY, OR 
  146. LICENSING OF THE SOFTWARE HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF 
  147. SUCH DAMAGES.

  149. This notice will be construed, interpreted, and governed by the laws of 
  150. the state of Maryland as applied to transactions taking place entirely 
  151. within Maryland between Maryland residents.
