  4. GENERAL
  5.  
  6. Pharmacy is similar to Tetris, only more addictive.
  7. The premise is simple:  destroy the germs by using the
  8. constantly falling medicine pills.
  9.  
  10. OBJECTIVE
  11.  
  12. You start with a vile full of germs (the higher the
  13. level, the more the germs).  A color coded pill will
  14. drop into the top of the vile.  Match the pill color
  15. with the germ as the pill falls.  When you get four of
  16. the same color in a row either horizontally or
  17. vertically, the row will be blasted.  Any germs that
  18. make up part of that four in a row will get blasted
  19. too!
  20.  
  21. Continue until all germs are destroyed, then move onto
  22. the next level.
  23.  
  24. Because the pills gradually fall faster the longer you
  25. take, it is in your best interest to clear each screen
  26. as soon as possible.
  27.  
  28. SCORING
  29.  
  30. One hundred points are awarded each time you destroy a
  31. virus.  If you destroy two viruses at the same time or
  32. as a result of a chain reaction, you will get 100
  33. points for the first virus and 200 for the second.  A
  34. third virus gets you another 300 points and so on.
  35.  
  36. CONTROLS
  37.  
  38. If Pharmacy detects a mouse, then you can use it to
  39. choose the number of players and start the game.  If no
  40. mouse is found, an arrow can be moved from one option
  41. to the next using the tab key.  The arrow keys and the
  42. return key are used to select buttons and choices.
  43.  
  44. A menu will pop up if you click the right mouse button
  45. (press ESC in keyboard mode).  You can use it to turn
  46. on and off some extremely irritating music or quit the
  47. game.  This is also a handy way to pause the game.

  49. Once the game starts; however, you can only use the
  50. keyboard.
  51.  
  52. Here are the controls during game play:
  53.  
  54. One Player Mode:
  55.    Left arrow   -   Move pill left
  56.    Right arrow  -   Move pill right
  57.    Up arrow     -   Rotate pill one way
  58.    Down arrow   -   Rotate pill the other way
  59.    Spacebar     -   Fast drop pill
  60.  
  61. In two player mode, the objective of the game is to
  62. clear out your vile before you opponent clears out
  63. theirs.

  65. The first to clear out the vile three times wins!
  66.  
  67. In two player mode, the players must share the
  68. keyboard.  The controls are as follows:

  70. Player One (left side):
  71.  
  72.    X           -    Move pill left
  73.    C           -    Move pill right
  74.    Q           -    Rotate pill one way
  75.    A           -    Rotate pill the other way
  76.    Z           -    Fast drop pill

  78. Player Two (right side):

  82.    ]           -    Rotate pill one way

  86. HARDWARE
  87.  
  88. This program is written to work with a wide variety of
  89. PC hardware.  The best screen resolution available is
  90. used (up to a medium VGA mode).  This program even
  91. works on a clunky old CGA monitor!
  92.  
  93. The minimum hardware:
  94.  
  95.      IBM PC or compatible
  96.      640K of memory (I haven't tested it with less
  97.                      so it may work)
  98.      CGA or better monitor.
