  8. STEP-BY-STEP explanation of the installation process

  10. If the program contains only one file, FILENAME.ZIP:
  11. Use up-to-date version of PKUNZIP or other extractor.
  12. Type "PKUNZIP FILENAME.ZIP" or run PKZIP for Windows
  13. or WINZIP.

  16. 4 files are created:    SERP1.~
  17.             INSTALL.EXE
  18.             WARPINFO.TXT
  19.                         README.TXT

  21. Type "INSTALL" or click on "INSTALL.EXE" from Windows.

  23. The installation menu appears on the screen.

  25. Type <enter> to install these files to the C:\SERPENT
  26. directory or else type in desired Directory name and 
  27. type <enter>.

  29. The file SERP1.~ is moved to the C:\SERPENT directory
  30. and renamed SERP1.EXE.  This is a self-extracting,
  31. zipped file.

  33. The next step should be done automatically by the 
  34. INSTALL program.  It is "SERP1 -d".  This command
  35. will unzip the files and install them to the proper
  36. directories.

  38. The program will then attenpt to install a Windows group
  39. and icon if Windows is present.  You are prompted for a drive
  40. and directory again.  Be sure to choose the same drive and
  41. directory as before, or Windows won't be able to find the files.
