  3.                          The Main Menu Help
  4.  
  5.  
  6.   Use this menu to select working mode or to change the language.
  7.  
  8.   The Main menu consists of screen buttons under the image.
  9.  
  10.      1. Book     - invoke Book Mode
  11.      2. Setup    - invoke Screen Setup Mode
  12.      3. Map      - invoke Map Mode
  13.      4. Topics   - invoke Topics Mode
  14.      5. Autoshow - run Automatic Slide Show
  15.      6. Russian  - change to Russian text
  16.      7. English  - change to English text
  17.      8. Exit     - Exit the program
  18.      9. Help     - invoke Help screen

  21.    To get any button description, move the cursor to the desired button
  22. then press the right mouse button. To remove the button description
  23. press the right mouse button or any key.

  25.                      The Book Mode Help
  26.  
  27.     Two windows are displayed in this mode - the text window and
  28. the illustration window.
  29.     There are two different types of highlighted references in the
  30. text. Orange words are image references while brown ones are text
  31. references.
  32.    To select reference place the cursor on it and press the left mouse
  33. button or the Enter key.
  34.    When an orange image reference is selected - the new image is
  35. displayed in the illustration window.
  36.    When a brown text reference is selected - the current chapter is
  37. closed and a new reference chapter and image are automatically
  38. displayed. At the end of any chapter there is a reference to the next
  39. one, and you can read the whole book by selecting these references
  40. one by one.
  41.    Use the Previous Screen button to return to the previous chapter.
  42.    Press the Index button to go to the table of contents.
  43.    By pointing the cursor to the illustration image and pressing left
  44. mouse button or Enter key you can enlarge the image to full screen.
  45.    To get a button description move the cursor to the button and then
  46. press the right mouse button.

  49.                    The Full Image Mode Help
  50.  
  51.    Displayed in this mode are full screen images with a Command menu.
  52.    To get a Command button description, move the cursor to the desired
  53. button and press the right mouse button.
  54.    The following buttons are supported:
  55. 1. Book mode. Transfers user to the Book mode.
  56. 2. Map Browse mode. Transfers user to the Map mode.
  57. 3. Lens Tool mode. Allows the user to selectively magnify an area of
  58.    the image.
  59. 4 and 5. Zoom mode and Panoramic mode. Allow the user to scroll
  60.    through the current image at twice its normal magnification.
  61. 6. Information mode. Displays a short description about the image and
  62.    about defined objects of the image (after pressing Next Object
  63.    button).
  64. 7. Next Object. In the Information mode shows the next object of the
  65.    image.
  66. 8. Remove Command Menu mode. Removes the Command Menu from the screen.
  67. 9. Next Image. Displays the next image in the current topic series.
  68. 10. Previous Image. Displays the previous image in the current series.
  69. 11. Cancel. Cancels the mode which is currently active.
  70. 12. Help mode. Allows the user to invoke the Help screen.

  73.                    The Topic Series Help
  74.  
  75.    Images are organized in the Topic Series with short descriptions.
  76.  
  77.    The current image is highlighted by a bright frame on the screen.

  79.    The Topic Menu consists of two levels. At the upper level there are
  80. seven images, each of which represents a different topic. After you
  81. select a Topic, the second level of images appear, representing nine
  82. images of this topic.

  84.    You can browse through a series of images related to the current
  85. topic and enlarge any of them by pointing to an image with the cursor
  86. and then pressing the left mouse button or the Enter key.

  88.    There is a Command Menu at the bottom of the screen. To get a
  89. command description move the cursor to a button and press the right
  90. mouse button.

  94.                    The Setup Mode Help
  95.  
  96.    The following color settings can be changed by moving the cursor to
  97. the + or the - icons and clicking the left mouse button or the Enter
  98. key: RED, GREEN and BLUE component fraction or overall INTENSITY.

  100.    You can save the current screen adjustments by using the SAVE
  101. button, or restore the default values using the RESTORE button.

  103.    In any mode you can adjust screen palette using function keys:
  104.         F2/F3  - increase/decrease red
  105.         F4/F5  - increase/decrease green
  106.         F6/F7  - increase/decrease blue color
  107.         F8/F9  - increase/decrease intensity
  108.         F10 - restore original pallete
  109.  
  110.    To return to the Main Menu use the Main Menu button (decorated with
  111. double up arrows).

  113.     To get any button description, move the cursor to the desired
  114. button then press the right mouse button.

  118.                       The Map Mode Help
  119.  
  120.     While in the Small, Old and New Hermitage Map you can select any 
  121. highlighted room on the map.
  122.  
  123.     There are two floors in the Small, Old and New Hermitage. Select 
  124. any of them using the appropriate button (1 or 2) in the Command Menu 
  125. under the Map.
  126.  
  127.     The current room is highlighted in red and its small image is
  128. in the lower left corner of the screen. The name of the current room
  129. is also displayed.

  131.     To enter the Full Image Mode point to the small image with the
  132. cursor and press the left mouse button or the Enter key.

  134. There is a Command Menu at the bottom of the screen.

  136.     To get any button description, move the cursor to the desired

  147.                     The Zoom Mode Help
  148.  
  149.    In this Mode the current image is displayed both in a half screen
  150. format and in a special Zoom window at two times its normal size.

  152.    You can press any screen button to slowly move the image in the Zoom
  153. window in any direction you selected (from top to bottom, from left to
  154. right or vice versa, or diagonally for example, from top left
  155. to bottom right).

  157.    Press any key or left mouse button to cancel the Zoom motion.
  158.  
  159.    Use Cancel button to exit from the Zoom mode.

  161.    To get any button description, move the cursor to the desired button
  162. then press the right mouse button.
