- The Main Menu Help

- Use this menu to select working mode or to change the language.

- The Main menu consists of screen buttons under the image.

- 1. Book - invoke Book Mode
- 2. Setup - invoke Screen Setup Mode
- 3. Map - invoke Map Mode
- 4. Topics - invoke Topics Mode
- 5. Autoshow - run Automatic Slide Show
- 6. Exit - Exit the program
- 7. Help - invoke Help screen
- 8. Russian - change to Russian text
- 9. English - change to English text

- To get any button description, move the cursor to the desired button
- then press the right mouse button. To remove the button description
- press the right mouse button or any key.

- The Book Mode Help
-
- Two windows are displayed in this mode - the text window and
- the illustration window.
- There are two different types of highlighted references in the
- text. Light brown words are image references while crimson ones are
- text references.
- To select reference place the cursor on it and press the left mouse
- button or the Enter key.
- When a light brown image reference is selected - the new image is
- displayed in the illustration window.
- When a crimson text reference is selected - the current chapter is
- closed and a new reference chapter and image are automatically
- displayed. At the end of any chapter there is a reference to the next
- one, and you can read the whole book by selecting these references
- one by one.
- Use the Previous Screen button to return to the previous chapter.
- Press the Index button to go to the table of contents.
- By pointing the cursor to the illustration image and pressing left
- mouse button or Enter key you can enlarge the image to full screen.
- To get a button description move the cursor to the button and then
- press the right mouse button.

- The Full Image Mode Help
-
- Displayed in this mode are full screen images with a Command menu.
- The following Command buttons are supported:
- 1. Book mode. Transfers user to the Book mode.
- 2. Map Browse mode. Transfers user to the Map mode.
- 3. Lens Tool mode. Allows the user to selectively magnify an area of
- the image.
- 4 and 5. Zoom mode and Panoramic mode. Allow the user to scroll
- through the current image at twice its normal magnification.
- 6. Information mode. Displays a short description about the image and
- about defined objects of the image (after pressing Next Object
- button).
- 7. Next Object. In the Information mode shows the next object of the
- image.
- 8. Remove Command Menu mode. Removes the Command Menu from the screen.
- 9. Next Image. Displays the next image in the current topic series.
- 10. Previous Image. Displays the previous image in the current series.
- 11. Cancel. Cancels the mode which is currently active.
- 12. Help mode. Allows the user to invoke the Help screen.
- If some part of the current image exists as an independent image you
- can invoke it to the screen by clicking to this part of the image.

- The Topic Series Help
-
- Images are organized in the Topic Series with short descriptions.
-
- The current image is highlighted by a bright frame on the screen.
-
- The Topic Menu consists of two levels. At the upper level there are
- eight images, each of which represents a different topic. After you
- select a Topic, the second level of images appear, representing up to
- nine images of this topic.

- You can browse through a series of images related to the current
- topic and enlarge any of them by pointing to an image with the cursor
- and then pressing the left mouse button or the Enter key.

- There is a Command Menu at the bottom of the screen. To get a
- command description move the cursor to a button and press the right
- mouse button.

- The Setup Mode Help
-
- The following color settings can be changed by moving the cursor to
- the + or the - icons and clicking the left mouse button or the Enter
- key: RED, GREEN and BLUE component fraction or overall INTENSITY.

- You can save the current screen adjustments by using the SAVE
- button, or restore the default values using the RESTORE button.
-
- In any mode you can adjust screen palette using function keys:
- F2/F3 - increase/decrease red
- F4/F5 - increase/decrease green
- F6/F7 - increase/decrease blue color
- F8/F9 - increase/decrease intensity
- F10 - restore original pallete

- To return to the Main Menu use the Main Menu button (decorated with
- double up arrows).

- To get any button description, move the cursor to the desired
- button then press the right mouse button.

- The Map Mode Help
-
- While in the Map Mode you can select any mound on the map.
-
- The current mound is highlighted in red and a small image of an
- artifact found in this mound is in the lower left corner of the screen.
- A short description of the artifact is also displayed.

- To enter the Full Image Mode, point to the small image with the
- cursor and press the left mouse button or Enter key.

- To show the next artifact made in the current mound, select the Next
- Object button.

- To get any button description, move the cursor to the desired button
- then press the right mouse button.

- The Zoom Mode Help
-
- In this Mode the current image is displayed both in a half screen
- format and in a special Zoom window at two times its normal size.

- You can press any screen button to slowly move the image in the Zoom
- window in any direction you selected (from top to bottom, from left to
- right or vice versa, or diagonally for example, from top left to bottom
- right).

- Press any key or left mouse button to cancel the Zoom motion.
-
- Use Cancel button to exit from the Zoom mode.

- then press the right mouse button.
