Transcription: The ozone layer is in the stratosphere above the Earth. It consists of a thin layer of ozone gas, which is a type of oxygen. Ozone absorbs much of the harmful ultraviolet radiation from the Sun, preventing it from reaching the Earth. Without the ozone layer, all living things on Earth would be killed by the ultraviolet rays.
