- hydra.device -- device driver for Hydra Systems' Amiganet ethernet card
-
- Version 1.44
-
- NOTE: This has *nothing* to do with the Hydra networking protocol.
-
- Just install it by copying the file hydra.device to DEVS:Networks, or wherever
- your hydra.device currently is (if not in DEVS:Networks, probably in DEVS:).
-
- I've been trying for some time now to get hold of a new version of this driver,
- but for some reason I didn't succeed in getting it from the manufacturer.
-
- At the Amiga Technologies booth at the World of Amiga (Computer '95) show in
- Cologne I met Allen Brooks of interworks (abrooks@iworks.com) who distribute
- the Hydra card in the US. He kindly offered to send me a new version of the
- driver, and said it was probably OK to distribute it since it's obviously of no
- use to anybody who doesn't have the card.
-
- There's no documentation or bug-fix list. Sorry! I also hope I don't get sued
- over this--the copyright status isn't at all clear here. Repeated attempts to
- contact Hydra have failed but as far as I can see nobody is selling this driver
- separately for a profit, so putting it up on Aminet is probably in the best
- interest of everybody including Hydra.
-
- Since some people on Usenet have been asking for the address of Hydra Systems,
- here it is:
-
- Hydra Systems
- Wyndrushe House
- Red Lane
- Kenilworth CV8 1PB
- England
-
- Phone/Fax +44 203 473333
-
- Here is the address for interworks:
-
- 43191 Camino Casillas
- Temeluca, CA
- 92592-3714 USA
-
- Phone 909/699-8120
- Fax 909/699-8279
-
- Email hydra.support@iworks.com
- (info@iworks.com for general information)
-
- I am not related in any way to either of these companies.
