  6. Online documentation and Release Notes

  8. For a description of new features and changes in InterBase 5,
  9. use Acrobat Reader to view the ReleaseNotes.pdf file.
  10. In addition, the complete 5-volume document set for InterBase 5 
  11. is available in PDF format with InterBase 5. 
  12.  
  13. Use Adobe Acrobat Reader 3 to view these PDF files. To take advantage 
  14. of the full-search indexing for the document set, you need Acrobat 
  15. Reader 3.0.1 (or later) With Search. This version of Reader is 
  16. included on your InterBase 5 CD-ROM. You can also download it from 
  17. http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html
  18. If you go directly to this Adobe site, be sure to download the
  19. version "with Search", not the plain version.

  21. The online PDF version of the document set is often more recent than
  22. the printed set. If you find descrepancies between the two versions,
  23. follow the information in the online PDF documents.

  25. ACCESSING THE DOCUMENT SET:  You can open any of the books
  26. directly from the InterBase 5 folder in the Start menu if
  27. you have Acrobat Reader already installed and the PDF extension
  28. is associated with Acrobat Reader. To access the books from the 
  29. Help menu in Server Manager, choose InterBase Help and choose the
  30. book you want from the "InterBase Books Online" section.

  42. Uninstalling InterBase 5
  43.  
  44. The Windows InterBase installation allows you to choose 
  45. between performing a complete install or selecting individual 
  46. components. If you choose to install components at different 
  47. times, the uninstall program will remove only the components 
  48. selected for the last install.

  50. The ODBC driver or the ODBC driver manager must be removed 
  51. manually; there is no uninstall available through the Windows 
  52. control panel.
