- To Install Codedoctor, do the following:
-
- This is CodeDoctor 2.3
-
- The following corrections and enhancements have been made to this version.
- 1. The Icon Clipper now works properly in 32 Bit version.
- 2. A bug in Copy Menu when copying menu after a previous Copy Controls
- was used has been corrected.
- 3. The Appearance Menu has been replaced with an Appearance Window and
- this window can be accessed from the Hot Buttons or Utility Menu.
- 4. A Tab Order Window has been added for quick setting Tab Order. See
- the Help file for instructions if needed.
-
- The following corrections were made from version 2.0 to 2.2
- 1. Copy Menu, Copy Controls & Code, and Delete Controls & Code were recoded
- to make the operation automatic, without the user being prompted to
- select filenames (2.1)
-
- 2. In 2.1, Copy Controls failed when embeded controls were copied without
- the container around them. Corrected in 2.2.
-
-
- To Install CodeDoctor, follow these steps:
-
- 1. Unzip CODEDOCT.ZIP into any directory, VB4, for example.
- Four files will be unzipped:
-
- CODEAD16.EXE
- CODEAD32.EXE
- CODEDOCT.HLP
- This Readme.1st file.
-
- 2. From Windows File Manager, execute CODEAD16.EXE. CodeDoctor
- will register itself in the VB.INI file where VB 4.0/16 will recognize
- it as an add-in. This version of CodeDoctor works in 16 Bit VB 4.0.
- To register the 32 Bit version, execute CODEAD32.exe from the
- File Manager.
-
- NOTE ****** that BOTH versions of CodeDoctor must be executed
- from the same directory. If this is not strictly adhered to, the
- CodeDoctor will not work because of registration security measures
- taken in the CodeDoctor Program. Once installed, CodeDoctor cannot be
- moved from one directory to another without moving the INI file with
- it. Again, both versions (16/32) must be executed from the same
- directory.
-
- 3. Load VB 4.0 and select CodeDoctor Add-In from the Add-In Manager.
-
- 4. The first character of the Codedoct.INI file is the number of characters
- to TAB in the Indent function. It is initially set at 3; this can be
- changed to any value from 1-9. THIS IS THE ONLY CHARACTER THAT CAN BE
- CHANGED IN THE INI FILE AND STILL EXPECT THE CODEDOCTOR TO RUN!
-
- 5. NOTE ***** Enhancements and more features are coming****
- If you register this version you will be able to get any 2.x
- features for free by simply pulling down the new version of the
- executable.
-
-
- To Register your copy of CodeDoctor, send a check for $39 + $5 handling
- to:

-
- Upon receipt of your check or registeration notice you will receive,
- by return mail, instructions on how to turn your copy of CodeDoctor into
- a registered copy.

- at the Compuserve address listed above.
-
- If you register your copy of CodeDoctor, you will be able to download and
- execute any upgrade to CodeDoctor 2.x free of charge.
-
- NOTE: If you have a previous version of CodeDoctor 2.0, in order to execute
- CodeDoctor 2.1, you must deleter CodeDoct.Ini from the directory where you
- installed CodeDoctor. Otherwise, CodeDoctor will give a "corrupt INI File"
- message and will not run.
-
- CAUTION: CodeDoctor has built in security and any attempt to change the INI
- file will cause CodeDoctor to fail. Any future attempts to run CodeDoctor
- will fail, unless you register CodeDoctor and receive the registration
- password.
