  4. release of ScriptGen Pro™, a simple and feature-rich
  5. Installer script generator. The point-and-click interface
  6. of ScriptGen Pro makes it the tool of choice for
  7. developers and network support personnel who want to use
  8. the industry standard for installing software, Apple’s
  9. “one-button” Installer. ScriptGen Pro can create powerful
  10. Installer scripts incorporating an Easy Install option,
  11. custom packages, resource installation, color graphics,
  12. compression, sound, splash screens, and fonts.

  23.     With additional third-party products, ScriptGen Pro
  24. supports three common compression formats: Compact Pro,

  29.     InstallerPack, StepUp’s collection of Installer
  30. add-ons called action atoms (sold separately), is
  31. internally supported making any feature available by
  32. checking a checkbox. Custom graphics, sound, compression,
  33. and custom folder icons are script enhancements
  34. incorporated with InstallerPack.

  37.     Installer scripts for networks are fully supported.

  39. Importing and Reporting 
  40.     ScriptGen Pro can import existing Installer scripts
  41. written for Installer versions 3.2 through 3.4. A report
  42. detailing scripts may be output to any text editor.

  45.     Packages allow the end-user to choose a subset or
  46. variation of the Easy Install. They may include
  47. descriptions and custom icons which display in the
  48. Installer’s custom screen. The developer may choose to
  49. force a restart if a package is installed and may declare
  50. a package to be removable.

  53.     For professional Installer scripters already familiar
  54. with Apple’s Rez language, ScriptGen Pro will generate
  55. and compile Rez code using Apple events and Apple’s
  56. Macintosh Programmer’s Workshop.

  59.     For a limited time, StepUp is shipping ScriptGen Pro
  60. with two Installer add-ons. The “UserSelectsDestination
  61. Action Atom” gives the end-user the ability to choose a
  62. folder during the installation to place the installed
  63. software. The “AlertUser Function” displays a dialog when
  64. the Installer is launched reminding the user to disable
  65. extensions (the text is developer-modifiable). The dialog
  66. contains a “Continue” and a “Quit” button.
