  3. Dear Customers,

  5. Enclosed is the first public beta test version of our brand new
  6. VirusScan version 2.0.  We are excited to bring this new version
  7. to you.  You will notice significant performance enhancements, 
  8. along with a reduced memory footprint.
  9.  
  10. With this first beta test version, you should note a few things.
  11. First, this is beta software, and since this is a complete re-write
  12. of the code, we are asking you to remember that as beta software, it
  13. may contain some bugs.  If you encounter any problems, please report
  14. them to us immediately as described in the enclosed REPGUIDE.TXT.
  15.  
  16. In addition, the virus detection in this release is not yet complete.
  17. We have developed a whole new mechanism for detecting and cleaning 
  18. viruses, and are still creating the identification parameters for 
  19. some viruses.  If you encounter a virus that we do not yet detect, 
  20. or that we identify incorrectly, please notify us so we can ensure
  21. complete and proper detection for the final release.

  23. Also, if you encounter any "false alarms" or files being reported 
  24. as infected that are not infected, please report them to us right
  25. away.
