- How to modify hypertext networks and ASCII files
- ================================================
-
- PC-Hypertext contains two independent hypertext systems <FILE0 EXAMPLE>
- made of cross-referenced networks and the cross-referenced ASCII files.
-
- Networks Cross-referenced networks are initially created by
- ======== either the MaxThink or Houdini programs. The output
- files of these two programs are translated into the
- PC-Hypertext format by the M2H.EXE or H2H.EXE programs.
- These programs are part of the HYPERLINK package for
- construction hypertext systems.
-
- ASCII files Cross-references in ASCII files are created by your word
- =========== processor. To add your own cross-references, add a
- filename with leading and trailing angle brackets to any
- ASCII file.
-
- The OPTION command allows users to enter calls to their
- word processor with the current file loaded (use @ in
- the call to define the current filename). Once defined,
- press Alt-E to use your word processor to modify the
- cross-reference jumps in files.
-
- The types of filenames or program cross-references you can add are:
-
- ┌─────────────────────────────────────────┐
- │ ASCII <FILE0A> │
- │ Network <FILE0B> │
- │ PC-Paintbrush <FILE11> │
- │ ColorTX <FILE11> │
- │ DOS calls <FILE12> │
- │ Programs <FILE13> │
- └─────────────────────────────────────────┘
-
- The program limits users to one angle-bracket cross reference on each line
- of an ASCII file. However, the filename or program call can be up to 255
- characters long.
