  14.     This file, ORDER.FRM, contains  the QTAwk license agreement,  and gives
  15.     you information on registering QTAwk.  The actual registration form  is
  16.     at the end of the file.   There is also a separate form for  registered
  17.     users of an  earlier version of  QTAwk who wish  to upgrade to  version
  18.     4.20.

  20.     Registration Information
  21.     ------------------------

  23.     QTAwk is a copyrighted program protected by both U.S. and international
  24.     copyright law.  If you obtained QTAwk from a shareware disk vendor,  an
  25.     on-line computer service or bulletin  board, a friend or colleague,  or
  26.     another similar source, you have an unregistered (trial) copy.  You may
  27.     use this copy  without charge for  a limited period  of time under  the
  28.     terms of the QTAwk license agreement  (below).  After this time is  up,
  29.     you must register and pay for QTAwk to continue using it.

  31.     This method of distribution  is known as shareware.   It allows you  to
  32.     determine whether QTAwk meets your needs before you pay for it.
  33.  
  34.     The registration fee  for a single  copy of QTAwk  is $50.   Payment of
  35.     this fee entitles you to:

  37.       * A disk with the latest version of QTAwk, registered to you.
  38.  
  39.       * One copy of the printed QTAwk manual.
  40.  
  41.       * An upgrade to the next release of QTAwk.
  42.  
  43.       * Technical support via electronic mail or telephone.
  44.  
  45.     If you prefer, you may register  for $35 and receive only the  disk and
  46.     notices of future upgrades.  Network, site, and corporate licenses  are
  47.     also available; contact the copyright holder for more information.

  49.     Upgrade Information

  52.     If you purchased QTAwk version 4.02 or later at the $50 rate, or a site
  53.     license for version 4.02 or later,  you are entitled to a free  upgrade
  54.     to version 4.20.   If you  are not entitled  to a free  upgrade, or you
  55.     wish to  order a  version 4.20  manual use  the order  form in the file
  56.     ORDER.FMR.

  59.     QTAwk License Agreement
  60.     ----------------------

  62.     (1)  Copyright:    The  QTAwk  program  and  all  other  programs   and
  63.     documentation distributed or shipped with it are Copyright Pearl  Boldt
  64.     1988 - 1990 and are protected by U.S. and International Copyright  law.
  65.     In the rest of this  document, this collection of programs  is referred
  66.     to simply as "QTAwk".   You are granted  a license to use  your copy of
  67.     QTAwk only  under the  terms and  conditions specified  in this license
  68.     agreement.

  70.     (2) Definitions:   QTAwk is distributed  in two forms.   A "registered"
  71.     copy of  QTAwk is  a copy  distributed on  diskette, purchased from the
  72.     copyright holder.  A "shareware" copy of QTAwk is a copy distributed on
  73.     diskette or via an electronic bulletin board, on-line service, or other
  74.     electronic means, obtained  from a shareware  disk vendor, or  obtained
  75.     from another individual.

  77.     (3) Shareware  Copies:   Shareware copies  of QTAwk  are distributed to
  78.     allow you to try the program before you pay for it.  They are Copyright
  79.     1988  -  1990,  Pearl  Boldt  and  do  not constitute "free" or "public
  80.     domain" software.  You may use  a shareware copy of QTAwk at  no charge
  81.     for a trial  period of up  to 21 days.   If you  wish to continue using
  82.     QTAwk after that period, you must  purchase a registered copy.  If  you
  83.     choose not to  purchase a registered  copy, you must  stop using QTAwk,
  84.     though you may keep copies and pass them along to others.  You may give
  85.     QTAwk to others for noncommercial use use IF:

  87.        => All Files And Documentation Accompany The Programs.
  88.        => The Files Are Not Modified In Any Way.

  90.     (4) Registered Copies:  Registered  copies of QTAwk are distributed  to
  91.     those who have purchased them from the copyright holder.

  93.     (5) Use of One Copy on Two Computers:  If you have a registered copy of
  94.     QTAwk which is licensed for use  on a single computer, you may  install
  95.     it on two  computers used at  two different locations  (for example, at
  96.     work  and  at  home),  provided  there  is  no possibility that the two
  97.     computers  will  be  in  use  at  the  same time, and provided that you
  98.     yourself  have  purchased  QTAwk,  or  if  QTAwk  was purchased by your
  99.     employer, that you have your employer's explicit permission to  install
  100.     QTAwk on  two systems  as described  in this  paragraph.   The right to
  101.     install  one  copy  of  QTAwk  on  two  computers  is limited to copies
  102.     originally licensed for use on a  single computer, and may not be  used
  103.     to expand the number of systems covered under a multi-system license.

  105.     (6) Use of QTAwk on Networks or Multiple Systems:  You may install your
  106.     registered copy of QTAwk on a computer attached to a network, or remove
  107.     it from one computer and install it on a different one, provided  there
  108.     is no possibility that your copy will be used by more users than it  is
  109.     licensed for.  A "user" is  defined as one keyboard which is  connected
  110.     to  a  computer  on  which  QTAwk  is  installed or used, regardless of
  111.     whether or not the user of the keyboard is aware of the installation or
  112.     use of QTAwk in the system.

  114.     (7) Making Copies:  You may copy any version of QTAwk for normal backup
  115.     purposes, and  you may  give copies  of the  shareware version to other
  116.     individuals subject to paragraph (4) above.  You may not give copies of
  117.     the registered  version to  any other  person for  any purpose, without
  118.     explicit written permission from the copyright holder.

  120.     (8) Distribution Restrictions:  You may NOT distribute QTAwk other than
  121.     through individual copies  of the shareware  version passed to  friends
  122.     and associates for their individual, non-commercial use.  Specifically,
  123.     you may not place  QTAwk or any part  of the QTAwk package  in any user
  124.     group or commercial library, or distribute it with any other product or
  125.     as an incentive to purchase any other product, without express  written
  126.     permission from the copyright holder  and you may not distribute  for a
  127.     fee, or  in any  way sell  copies of  QTAwk or  any part  of the  QTAwk
  128.     package.    If  you  are  a  shareware  disk  vendor  approved  by  the
  129.     Association of Shareware  Professionals (ASP), you  may place QTAwk  in
  130.     your library without prior written permission, provided you notify  the
  131.     copyright  holder  within  15  days  of  doing  so  and  provided  your
  132.     application has been fully approved in  writing by the ASP, and is  not
  133.     simply submitted or awaiting review.

  135.     (9)  Use  of  QTAwk:    QTAwk  is  a  powerful  program.  While we have
  136.     attempted to build  in reasonable safeguards,  if you do  not use QTAwk
  137.     properly you may destroy files  or cause other damage to  your computer
  138.     software and data.   You assume  full responsibility for  the selection
  139.     and use of QTAwk  to achieve your intended  results.  As stated  below,
  140.     the warranty on QTAwk is limited to replacement of a defective  program
  141.     diskette or manual.

  143.     (10) LIMITED  WARRANTY:   All warranties  as to  this software, whether
  144.     express or  implied, are  disclaimed, including  without limitation any
  145.     implied  warranties  of  merchantability,  fitness  for  a   particular
  146.     purpose, functionality or data integrity or protection are disclaimed.

  148.     (11) Satisfaction Guarantee:  If you are dissatisfied with a registered
  149.     copy of QTAwk for any reason (whether or not you find a software  error
  150.     or defect), you may return the entire package at any time up to 90 days
  151.     after purchase for a full refund of your original registration fee.

  217.     Orders from outside the U.S. must be paid by a check or money order  in
  218.     U.S. funds  and drawn  on a  U.S. bank;  or by  an international postal
  219.     money order in U.S.  dollars.  Checks which  are not in U.S.  funds and
  220.     drawn on a  U.S. bank will  be returned due  to extremely high  charges
  221.     imposed by U.S. banks to  collect the funds.  Purchase  orders (minimum
  222.     $200) can be accepted  from outside the U.S.,  but you must contact  us
  223.     before ordering.

  232.     Multi-System Licenses:

  234.     Multi-system licensing  arrangements are  available for  network, site,
  235.     and corporate use of QTAwk.  Check  the line on the order form or  con-
  236.     tact us for  more information.   A sample schedule  of license fees  is
  237.     below; contact us for pricing on  the exact number of systems you  wish
  238.     to license.  The fee includes  a master diskette and one manual;  addi-
  239.     tional manuals are $10 each (less for over 100 copies).
