  1. Instructions on Installing and Using this Page One Interactive Training

  4. Minimum Recommended System Requirements:

  9. 4X CD-ROM drive or higher
  10. Monitor capable of 256 colors at 640 X 480 resolution.

  16. 1. Installing the Software
  17.  
  18. To install this software in Windows 95 : 
  19.  
  20. a) Insert the CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive
  21. b) Choose the Start Menu and click on the Run command
  22. c) From the Run dialog box type d:\urie4\setup ( where d: is the letter of your CD-ROM 
  23.    drive) - note: if you are using a version of this product which has been included on another
  24.    another CD-ROM you may need to verify the folder name containing the setup file.
  25. d) When prompted on the screen choose Full Install
  26. e) Follow the onscreen instructions.

  29. To install this software in Windows 3.1 : 
  30.  
  31. a) Insert the CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive
  32. b) Choose the Program Manager choose the File menu, Run Command
  33. c) From the Run dialog box type d:\urie4\setup ( where d: is the letter of your CD-ROM 
  34.    drive) - note: if you are using a version of this product which has been included on another
  35.    another CD-ROM you may need to verify the folder name containing the setup file.
  36. d) When prompted on the screen choose Full Install
  37. e) Follow the onscreen instructions.

  39. This software will install approx. 6 MB of files on your hard disk. These files 
  40. will be located by default in a 
  41. sub-directory of your windows directory  called :    \asym\runtime. The 
  42. remainder of the tutorial software runs directly from the CD-ROM.

  44. NOTE:    The CD-ROM must be in your CD-ROM drive every time you wish to run this 
  45. software.

  47. ALSO NOTE:    We recommend setting your computer display to 640 X 480 resolution 
  48. 256 colors to run this tutorial software. This can be done using the Display 
  49. option in the Control Panel.

  53. 2. Running this Software

  56. After the installation, a group will appear in your programs menu called Page 
  57. One Interactive. Inside this group you will see the link Up and Running with 
  58. Internet Explorer 4. Double-click this link to launch the tutorial software.

  62. 3. Working in this software

  65. Full Screen Mode:
  66.  
  67. In order to simulate the experience of working in the actual program being 
  68. taught, this software runs full screen in 640 x 480 resolution mode.

  71. Audio û Non Audio Modes:(AUDIO VERSION SOFTWARE ONLY)
  72.  
  73. This software offers instruction in either audio or non-audio modes. The second 
  74. screen in the tutorial requires you to select the desired mode. You can choose 
  75. Audio mode if you computer is equipped with a sound card and speakers or 
  76. headphones. Note the audio tracks will not play back through the computerÆs 
  77. internal speakers. In Non-Audio mode, instruction is provided onscreen in blue 
  78. text boxes.

  80. NOTE: IF YOU HAVE A NON-AUDIO VERSION OF THIS SOFTWARE YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS
  81. TO AUDIO FUNCTIONS STATED HERE.

  84. User Interface Box:
  85.  
  86. The User Interface box appears on every screen and allows you to navigate 
  87. throughout the tutorial. It also allows you to take notes, replay an audio 
  88. track. The text area of the user interface box provides instructions 
  89. as to what you should do next. Here are the functions of the User Interface box 
  90. buttons

  92. Next :    Takes you to the next screen in the tutorial
  93. Back:    Takes you to the previous screen in the tutorial
  94. Menu:    Takes you to the tutorial Main menu
  95. Topics:    Provides a pop-up menu of section topics which you can jump to
  96. Audio:    Replays the audio track for the current screen. (Audio Playback mode 
  97. only)
  98. Notes:    Displays the Notes window where you can enter, save, open and print 
  99. Notes while working in this tutorial.

  103. Navigation Keys:
  104. You can also navigate forward and backward in the tutorial using the following 
  105. keys on your keyboard:

  107. RIGHT ARROW :    Advances to the next screen
  108. LEFT ARROW:        Take you back to the previous screen
  109. F1 :            Displays the How to Use this Tutorial section
  110. F2:            Takes you back to the last screen you were viewing.

  114. Main Menu and Section Menu Indicators:
  115.  
  116. The Green indicators light up whenever you have jumped or entered a Section or 
  117. section topic. Note these indicators are reset when you exit the tutorial.

  120. Red Arrow Graphic and User Instructions:
  121.  
  122. The Red arrow graphic will always point to the area on the screen where you must 
  123. enter text or perform a mouse function such as clicking or dragging. The text 
  124. area of the User Interface Box provides instructions as to what you should do 
  125. next.

  127. The Notes Screen:
  128.  
  129. The Notes screen allows you to take notes while working in the tutorial. You can 
  130. view the Notes screen at anytime by clicking on the Notes button in the User 
  131. Interface Box. You can also Save, Open and Print Notes at anytime . IMPORTANT: 
  132. You must use the SAVE button in the Notes Screen to save you notes before 
  133. exiting the tutorial. If you do not, your Notes will not be saved and you will 
  134. be unable to Open them in your next session.

  136. The Save button will open the Save As dialog box and automatically insert a file 
  137. name and TXT extension. Notes files are saved as plain ASCII text files. You can 
  138. use this default file name or enter your own. If you enter your own file name be 
  139. sure to include the extension .TXT in order that the Open command in the Notes 
  140. screen will be able to Open the file. You can also specify another drive/folder 
  141. location to save the notes file. The Notes file can be opened in any program 
  142. capable of opening .TXT files.

  146. Exiting the Tutorial:

  148. If you click the Exit button on the User Interface Box you will be prompted to 
  149. confirm you wish to exit the tutorial. Clicking Yes will shut down the tutorial 
  150. software, clicking NO will return you to the tutorial.
