  2.             XLisp for Windows
  3.  
  4.     This implementation is the unmodified XLisp 2.1d ported to Windows 3.0
  5. environment. I wrote it because I needed a Lisp server for Windows in my
  6. project and I thought that it could be useful for somebody else. Although
  7. better and more "Windows-like" XLisp implementations have been created so far
  8. I found the server capability thus the possibility of integration into bigger
  9. systems unique among the existing XLisps. See details on this feature in the
  10. on-line help. See credits of the XLisp's creators also in there.

  12.     This version behaves much more politely in Windows than those I have
  13. already seen - it means that this XLisp does not freeze the whole system when
  14. it is running but let the other applications execute.

  16.       As in the case of the original XLisp , you can copy , redistribute
  17. or modify this program for any non-commercial purpose. You are encouraged
  18. to enhance the Windows interface which is quite poor now. If you ran into
  19. any error , I would be very glad to get some feedback about it (I will
  20. work a lot with this program ...)

  22.     You will not find any source text editor in this package. There is a
  23. small macro file , however , in the BIN directory which you could use
  24. for Pierre Perret's excellent MicroEmacs for Windows. This macro provides the
  25. parenthesis searching feature. MicroEmacs for Windows is available (among
  26. many other places) at ftp.cica.indiana.edu.
