  1. RECOMM V1.0 Freeware (f) 22.12.1993 (sorry for my bad English)

  3. (the software has german messages and dialogs!, but you can
  4. change the sources and build your on version)

  6. With  Recomm V1.0 can you share your Modem across a NETBIOS NetWork.
  7. Anybody  on the Network can use the Modem(s).
  8.  
  9. This is only posible for pure Windows3.1 Applications. DOS Applications 
  10. are not supported. Sometimes there are Timming Problems on 14.4k Baud.

  12. This System was tested and is used with following Hardware and Software

  14.     PEACOCK PC (386/DS) 4-8 MB
  15.     MultiTech Modem 14.4

  17.     Windows 3.1    
  18.     WinCim 1.0 - 1.0.5
  19.     Delrina WinFax Pro 3.0

  23. Server-Installation:
  24.  
  25. 1. copy the Files in INSTALL to your windows directory
  26.  
  27. 2. add the serverprogramm to WIN.INI
  28.

  30.     load=recomsrv.exe

  32. 3. add the port wich should access the remote port in recomm.ini
  33.  
  34.    for example

  39. 4. start windows

  41. If somebody accesses the Com-Port from an diffrent PC it is not possible to 
  42. use a DOS Application for longer as 2-3 min, otherwise you become
  43. Timeout Problems on the Client and the Server.

  45. Client-Installation:
  46.  
  47. 1. copy the Files in INSTALL to your windows directory
  48.  
  49. 2. add the remotemodule in your SYSTEM.INI

  52.     comm.drv=recomm.dll
  53.  
  54. 3. add in system.ini the portnumber wich should access the remoteport.
  55.    the portnumbers of the Client and the Server have not to be the same.

  62. 4. start Windows
  63.  
  64. 5. start your Application which should use the RemotePort
  65.  
  66. If you acces the RemotePort, you can choose one of the Servers in a
  67. PopupDialog. If you don't choose a Server in about 30 sec. the last
  68. Server you used will be accessed automaticly.

  70. If you want to use always the same Server without this popupDialog
  71. add the following Line in your recomm.ini
  72.  
  73.     [HOST]
  74.     USE=RS_XYZNAME
  75.  
  76. The Name of the Server is always RS (RemoteServer) an the Netbios Name
  77. of the Server.
