  1. UUCODE version 3.1 was released in February 1994 with the
  2. following enhancements (compared to 3.0). Look for file
  3. UUCODE31.ZIP on BBS's, on-line services, and the Internet.

  5. - Another command line option, -N or /N,  is provided to run
  6.   UUCODE in Quiet Mode which minimizes progress display and 
  7.   never prompts the user for an action; default actions are 
  8.   always taken. This is useful to launch UUCODE from another
  9.   program which is used to automate a task without requiring
  10.   user input.

  12. - UUCODE now has two modes instead of three; Quiet Mode and
  13.   Interactive Mode.

  15. - Selection of multiple input files is now possible from the
  16.   input file open dialog box. Pressing the Control key while
  17.   clicking on a file will add it to the list to be processed.
  18.   Pressing the Shift key while clicking on a file will add a
  19.   range of files to the list to be processed. For more
  20.   information on how to use the standard Shift or Control Click
  21.   feature of Windows, please read your Windows manuals.

  23. - Upgraded support of DOS uuencode/uudecode programs to
  24.   version 5.24.

  26. - When invalid UU or XX encoded data is encountered, the user is
  27.   prompted to continue. UUCODE will, if instructed, attempt to
  28.   decode the data. The reason for this feature is that on some
  29.   occasions, the encoded files ending with a certain character
  30.   pattern (spaces) sometimes get truncated by email systems. UUCODE
  31.   will assume that spaces are required to fill out the encoded
  32.   data and attempt decoding anyway.

  34. - UUCODE now places it's initialization file UUCODE.INI in the
  35.   home directory of UUCODE rather than in the Windows directory.
  36.   This makes un-installation easier.

  38. - Additional logic has been added to improve detection of multiple
  39.   part types.

  41. - Both UNIX and DOS path names (versus just the filename part) are
  42.   accepted in the encoded data file. Path separators for DOS '\'
  43.   (backslash) and UNIX '/' (slash) are recognized. The path
  44.   component is stripped off when creating the original input file
  45.   contained in the encoded file.

  47. - An electronic on-line order form is provided which allows the
  48.   user to type the registration information into a dialog box and
  49.   print the order instead of requiring the user to first print an
  50.   order form and then hand writing the order. In addition, the
  51.   on-line order form automatically calculates the order price.
  52.   This limits math mistakes and makes it much easier to read the
  53.   orders. The printable order form which is completed via
  54.   hand-writing is still provided, however.

  56. - The installation program will ask to create a Program Manager
  57.   group instead of automatically creating one. The group name may
  58.   also be changed from the default.
