- 3. Changes in this release
- --------------------------
-
- {COMMO} 6.0 features a bit of a new look, a number of user interface
- improvements and some powerful new macro features.
-
- Some VERY important upgrade instructions for users of previous releases are in
- the file UPGRADE.DOC.
-
- Previous users of {COMMO} should also read the detailed list of changes in the
- file HISTORY. This file also shows changes to several previous releases.
-
- --------------------------------------
- 4. {COMMO} for visually impaired users
- --------------------------------------
-
- {COMMO} is very speech friendly for blind and visually impaired users with
- speech synthesizer equipment. The first time the program is used, place the
- switch "/b" on the command line. This will temporarily enable the speech
- interface. The text file COMMO.SET (the Setup File) contains an item to
- permanently enable this feature. Search for "sfi=no" (it can be found in the
- "Video and Chat Mode" section). Change it to "sfi=yes". The entire item will
- then look like this:
-
- {sfi=yes} Speech Friendly Interface (yes/no)
-
- --------------------------
- 5. HP 95LX, HP 100LX users
- --------------------------
-
- There is NO shareware release of {COMMO} for the HP 95LX. An enhanced,
- commercial version called fastCOMM! is available and may be ordered directly
- from ACE Technologies of San Jose, CA, by calling (800) 825-9977.
-
- fastCOMM! is System Manager compliant when used in conjunction with SWITCH!
- 2.0 (also available from ACE Technologies). There are many additional new
- features and improvements, including much better compatibility with the 95LX
- screen size. fastCOMM! 1.0 is otherwise comparable to {COMMO} 5.41.
-
- HP 100LX users will benefit from fastCOMM!'s improved response at high speeds
- (9600+). {COMMO} may also be used on the 100LX with excellent results. Be
- sure that you do NOT load System Manager when running {COMMO} on the 100LX.
-
- -------------------------------
- 6. Printed Manual Now Available
- -------------------------------
-
- For users who desire a printed manual, a very attractive new manual is now
- available to those who register. The printed manual is coil-bound and has a
- multi-font, easy to read format. It is fully indexed and is a handy 7" by
- 8.5" size.
-
- Please refer to the Registration Form in REGISTER.FRM, COMMO.DOC or MACRO.DOC
- for ordering information.
-
- -----------------------------
- 7. {COMMO} Utilities on Disk!
- -----------------------------
-
- When you register you may order a diskette with the current release of
- {COMMO}. In addition, the latest versions of a number of {COMMO} macros and
- utilities will be included on the disk:
-
- COMMOPNS Shad Muegge's file selection utility. {COMMO} Point-N-Shoot
- allows you to select files for uploading without typing
- filenames. Integrates seamlessly with {COMMO}, comes with
- macro support. Shareware.

- set up your own little BBS. Added features include: messaging
- with word-wrap, bulletins, expert mode, hot menus, menus in
- separate files (for easy customizing, adding color, etc.),

-
- ------------------------------------
- 8. New passkeys for registered users
- ------------------------------------
-
- For various business reasons I have had to create a new passkey system for
- registered users. Your old passkeys will NOT work on release 6.0 of {COMMO}.
-
- Therefore I am asking that users in the USA request new passkeys by sending a
- self-adressed, STAMPED, business-size envelope (SASE).
-
- Users outside the USA must send a self-addressed envelope plus $1.00 US (cash
- only, no local currency or coins) for postage and handling.
-
- ALL users include the following information:
-
- (1) Your name and address as it appears in my records (if the address on
- the return envelope is the same, it is not necessary to include it
- separately).
-
- (2) Your {COMMO} serial number and old passkey.
-
- If you've lost your serial number and/or passkey, your request will be honored
- ONLY if the address on the SASE matches my current records. If it doesn't
- match, the SASE will be returned with the message, "Insufficient information."
-
- PLEASE do not request new passkeys by telephone or E-mail.
-
- My apologies for this inconvenience. Thank you all for supporting {COMMO}.
-
- --------------------------------------
- 9. Special offers for registered users
- --------------------------------------

- Registered users may obtain PRINTED MANUALS and/or DISKETTES for the new
- release. All prices are US$ and include shipping/handling/tax.
-
- Please use the order form in REGISTER.FRM (write in what you are ordering and
- the total amount).

- include the information as shown above).
