  8. Actually, folks, the newsgroup hierarchy comp.binaries.* was created
  9. specifically for this purpose.  Many sites do not have the disk
  10. space to carry binary postings; the hierarchy was created to 
  11. alleviate this problem.  You might notice the current discussion
  12. in news.* concerning GIF postings in non-binary newsgroups.
  13. This discussion has the same roots as that in news.*.

  15. The original poster erred in posting the image files to this
  16. newsgroup.  Hopefully, future postings of the Oberon system 
  17. will be placed in comp.binaries.*, where they belong.
  18.  
  19. This is by no means an impugnment of the posted system; I
  20. kept it, and it seems to be very nice indeed.

  22. If your argument for posting binaries here is "my site doesn't
  23. get the binaries groups", you'd best speak with your sysadmin.
