  14. What is Gnuplot 2.0?
  15. --------------------

  17. Gnuplot is a command-line driven interactive function plotting utility for
  18. UNIX, MSDOS, and VMS platforms.  The software is free.  It was originally
  19. intended as graphical program which would allow scientists and students
  20. to visualize mathematical functions and data.  Additions to this version 
  21. of the software allow production of publication quality plots and data graphs.
  22. Gnuplot supports many different types of terminals, plotters, and printers 
  23. and is easily extensible to include new devices.  [ The "GNU" in Gnuplot
  24. is NOT related to the Free Software Foundation, the naming is just
  25. a coincidence (and a long story). ]

  42. In general, patch 1 to Gnuplot 2.0 is available as the file
  43. gnuplot_patch1.tar.Z, and a patched version of gnuplot is 
  44. available as the file gnuplot2.01.tar.Z.
