- Hello There Everyone,

- Well I received many replies and here are some points that have a risen..
-
- 1) Someone said that I had forgot to tell you what printer I am using, It is
- an apple Laserwriter. To those that don't know, it is a printer that
- produces 'photocopier like' print, (Ie.) It is not a line printer.
-
- 2) The use of TABS to format text is okay, except I am getting all the text
- proportionally spaced, for example I have included some text using .DS .
-
- .IP Screen_3
- .DS

- The representation above is what it looks like on paper, additional spaces
- that I have added in to make some lines longer, do not actually exist it
- is the only way I can think to represent the proportional nature of some of
- the alphabetic characters.
-
- As you can see the '=' character and 'capitals' seem to be bigger than all
- the lower case alphabetic characters. So as you can see I having some
- problems with spaces, but the biggest hassle is with the text itself.
-
- 3) Someone suggested that I might nroff the document, and then send it through
- enscript which will print out on a laser in NON proportional mode. The only
- problem is that enscript does not handle the CONTROL characters that are
- used to make some parts of the text bold/underlined. And tables completely
- mess up.
- (Eg). The bit below will not work.
-
- .SH
- Introduction
- .LP
- <.....text....>
-
- 4) Someone said that I could use '.cs', But this hasn't worked.
-
- 5) I have had a couple of replies that mention what I would have to consider
- if I wanted to write my own MONOSPACED font. These are a bit too complex
- to mention here. But I have got one of our 2nd year students to help me
- try and build one from information we have gained from the Times and
- Helvetica fonts.
- We have had some success, it is nearly all monospaced, my tables just
- messed up slightly.
-
- *) I am just lookin for a monospaced font, one that is monospaced for all
- characters!!
-
- *) I know how to use 'tbl' and so forth, because I have some tables and the
- such.
-
- Thanks for all the help offered so far, I am still working on it...
-
- Antony.
