  8.         Automatic Backup Copy Daemon.  Copies files using cp or rcp to a

  16.         A program to read and write ANSI standard labeled tapes.  Has
  17.         billions and billions of options.  Includes switches to easily

  20.     ARCH.TAR
  21.         A set of programs to let users archive and unarchive files to tape
  22.         in a batch-like environment.  Runs under 4.xBSD, System V, Xenix.

  24.     BACKUP.TAR
  25.         A program to handle running backups.  It reads a configuration
  26.         file to see what needs to be dumped, and then runs dump(8) to
  27.         do it.  Handles multiple tapes, multiple dumps on one tape,
  28.         labeling tapes to be sure the right tape is used, and multiple
  29.         sets of dump tapes.  Understands how to use remote tape drives.
  30.         It currently runs on 4.3BSD, Gould UTX/2.0, and SunOS 3.4.  It
  31.         would take a LOT of work to make it run under System V unless
  32.         your System V has Berkeley pseudo-ttys.

  35.         Another backup utility, also for Berkeley UNIX.  This program also
  36.         tries to "quietize" the file system before dumping it.

  74.         A program to read and write ANSI labeled tapes, copy tapes even with
  75.         only one tape drive, read Cyber NOS format tapes and other useful

  79.         A program which reads a tape and produces a shell script to read
  80.         the tape in with "dd".  Handles changing record lengths, block
  81.         sizes, and so on.  Useful for reading unlabeled tapes.

  83.     MDUMP.TAR
  84.         Another program for doing full and incremental dumps.  This one
  85.         works on local and remote tape drives.

  88.         Multi-volume tape utility.  Splits its input across multiple tapes.
  89.         Works on both 4.xBSD and System V.

  92.         Reads and writes "tar" and "cpio" formats, both traditional and
  93.         IEEE 1003.1 (POSIX) extended.  Handles multi-volume archives and
  94.         automatically determines format while reading.  Has "tar", "cpio",
  95.         and "pax" interfaces.  "pax" interface is based on IEEE 1003.2
  96.         Draft 7.  Version 1.1.

  99.         A public domain "tar" replacement.  Writes P1003 (POSIX) standard
  100.         tapes by default, and can read and write both old and new formats.
  101.         It can also read compressed tar files without uncompressing them
  102.         first (see UNIX_C/FILE_MGMT/COMPRESS.TAR), and supports
  103.         accessing remote tape drives through the network.
