  4.     PC-LABEL is a separate program on your PROGRAM diskette.  It will
  5.     accept 4 different types of source files:
  6.  
  7.     (1) PC-TYPE+ Mail Merge output files (if you use the .LABEL .ELABEL
  8.         options
  9.     (2) PC-FILE database files
  10.     (3) Comma delimitted files
  11.     (4) Pure ASCII address files.
  12.  
  13.     Note: The ASCII address files cannot have multiple addresses across
  14.           the sheet.

  16.     When you run PC-LABEL, Esc will normally return you to the main menu
  17.     and F10 will normally accept your input and move on.

  21.                                Running PC-LABEL

  23.     To run PC-LABEL, just type PC-LABEL after the DOS prompt.  F1 will
  24.     provide you with a few help screens to get you acquainted with the
  25.     options.

  27.     If you have a graphics card without a color monitor, add the parameter
  28.  
  29.                                     /GREEN
  30.     when you start PC-LABEL.
  31.  
  32.     If you have a non-compatible PC, add the parameter
  33.  
  34.                                 /BIOS or /ANSI
  35.     when you start the program.
  36.  
  37.     Example:                     A:>pclabel /GREEN /BIOS

  41.                               PC-LABEL Examples
  42.  
  43.     Four examples have been provided for you on the HELP diskette - one
  44.     for each type of file PC-LABEL will support.  Each example has a
  45.     default file prepared for your convenience.  To try each example,
  46.     start PC-LABEL with the following command:

  48.     (1) PCLABEL a:\pct_help\pct.lbl    (for Mail Merge label output file)
  49.     (2) PCLABEL a:\pct_help\pcf.lbl    (for PC-FILE file)
  50.     (3) PCLABEL a:\pct_help\ws.lbl     (for comma delimited file)
  51.     (4) PCLABEL a:\pct_help\ascii.lbl  (for pure ASCII address file)

  53.     Note:
  54.          Of course if you have moved your help diskette files to another
  55.          location, you should replace the "a:\pct_help" with the new path
  56.          location.

  61.                            PC-LABEL and MAIL MERGE
  62.  
  63.     When you run Mail Merge, if you define       .LABEL C:\SAVE1\LABEL.DAT
  64.     the address portion of the letter as         .group
  65.     shown to the right, then the address         .<name>
  66.     information will be saved to the file        .<address1>
  67.     you designate - in the example, LABEL.DAT    .<address2>
  68.     on drive C, subdirectory SAVE1.  This file   .<city>, .<state> .<zip>
  69.     will be created for all three Mail Merge     .egroup
  70.     modes - gathering data from PC-FILE, from    .ELABEL
  71.     a comma delimited file, or from user input.

  73.     When you later want to create your labels, run PC-LABEL and select the
  74.     "PC-TYPE" labels file option on the PC-LABEL SOURCE DEFINITION screen.
  75.     You will then be prompted for the path, (C:\SAVE1 in the example), and
  76.     the filename (LABEL.DAT in the example.)  In this way you will never
  77.     have to redefine your addresses.
