- IMPORTING FILES into YOUR CURRENT FILE
-
- You may get all or part of a file on disk into the current file in
- which you are working by moving the cursor to the Command Line with
- the Esc key and then issuing a GET instruction. The GET instruction
- formats are:
-
- GET filespec - Gets the entire file "filespec" and loads it into
- your file below the current cursor position.
-
- GET filespec i n - Gets part of "filespec" from line i for n lines
- and loads it below the cursor.
-
- GETP filespec i n - Gets part of "filespec" from page i for n pages
- and loads it below the cursor.
-
- If you omit "n", then the rest of the file from i on will be loaded.
-
- Press the PgDn Key
-
- EXAMPLE GET INSTRUCTION
-
- Move the cursor to the asterisk at the right (*) and notice that you
- are on line 23 of this file. Now press the Esc key to go to the
- Command Line. On the Command Line type the command:
-
- GET a:\pct_help\get_file.hlp 23 1
-
- and press the Enter key. The line with the asterisk should appear to
- have been duplicated since you "got" the identical line from disk.
- (Of course if your help files are not on your A drive you should use
- the drive designator where they are located, and if you moved them
- from the subdirectory "pct_help" you should enter the subdirectory
- where they now reside.)
-
- When you use GETP, the paging determination is made as if the file had
- been printed - not by a pure line count.
-
- Press F4 to Return to the HELP Menu
