  4. Highlights of What's New in 4.02 ...

  6.     Selective resizing of main screen sections (appts,todo's,etc.)
  7.  
  8.         Usage of a new screen control provides the vehicle
  9.         for resizing each section of the main screen.  Your
  10.         sizing and screen position can be saved for use in
  11.         each startup of Time & Chaos.
  12.  
  13.     Logical subdivision of phone books on main screen.
  14.  
  15.         There is a new button on the main screen under the
  16.         phone book list box that will pop up the categories
  17.         selection list.  By clicking the desired categories
  18.         and selecting [OK] you can subdivide the present
  19.         phone book based on the categories chosen.  The list
  20.         box background will change to blue and the list box
  21.         will contain only those entries selected.

  23.         Clicking again on this new button will return the 
  24.         phone book list box to its previous full view.

  26.     Custom Report Generation.
  27.  
  28.         The Report Menu item on the main screen's menu bar
  29.         now provides for the definition, storing and printing
  30.         of custom reports.  Go to the Report area and click 
  31.         on the Format Menu item, Click on the Custom option .... 
  32.         and knock yourself out.

  34.     Group Scheduling of Appointments.
  35.  
  36.         In the TIMEBAR area of Time & Chaos you can super-
  37.         impose several/many calendar sets to get a composite
  38.         view of the schedules for several/many people.  Once
  39.         an acceptable group appointment time is chosen you
  40.         will now be able to place this appointment on everyone's
  41.         calendar across the network.

  43.     ToDo List Performance.
  44.  
  45.         We have utilized some new techniques to significantly
  46.         increase the performance of the ToDo.  The first time you
  47.         start this new version it will automatically optimize your
  48.         todo list to the new format.

  50.     * Ability to MOVE or COPY todo's and appointments by dragging to the month calendar
  51.     * Ability to set the appointment start time & end time with keyboard cursor keys
  52.     * Ability to completely disable appointment alarms
  53.     * The Month View! can be changed to Week View! as a default

  55.     ...........plus lots of minor little improvements and fixes!

  59.     Special WinFaxPro 3.0 format added to the EXPORT Utility.

  61.         One of the programs on our optional ($15.95) utitlities 
  62.         disc is EXPORT.  This program exports Time & Chaos data to
  63.         standard dBase formatted files.  A new format option has
  64.         been added to EXPORT so that it creates dBase files
  65.         compatable with WinFaxPro 3.0.  This allows T&C users to
  66.         output their white/yellow pages in a format acceptable
  67.         to WinFaxPro 3.0.  These files can be added to WinFaxPro's
  68.         list of phonebooks.

  70.         Thus Time and Chaos could be the single source of your
  71.         contact phone numbers.

  76. To INSTALL Version 4.02:
  77.  
  78. Run the INSTALL.EXE utility included with this diskette.
  79.    From the Windows Program Manager or File Manager, use the 
  80.    File Menu to get to the Run Command.
  81.             
  82. By default, a new subdirectory will be suggested called C:\chaos40 
  83. and all of the appropriate files will be copied there.  You can
  84. change this to a subdirectory of your choice.  
  85.  
  86. The install utility will also create a new Program Manager Group 
  87. and ICONS for you.  
  88.  
  89. After Installation you can run the program, by just double clicking on the
  90. Time & Chaos ICON, as you would with any windows program.

  93. UPGRADING INFORMATION:
  94.  
  95. A. If you are upgrading from a 4.x version of Time & Chaos it is
  96.    important that you understand the following points:
  97.  
  98. You should use the INSTALL utility since there are many files 
  99. that must be added to your existing Time & Chaos files.
  100.  
  101. Instruct the install utility to put the new files in the DOS
  102. subdirectory where your current version of Time & Chaos is installed.
  103.  
  104.  
  105. B. If you are upgrading from a 3.x version of Time & Chaos it is
  106.    important that you understand the following points:
  107.  
  108.     Time & Chaos should be installed to a different subdirectory
  109.     than before.  
  110.  
  111.     As such, your datafiles will need to be COPIED to the new
  112.     subdirectory.  You can do this by copying your old datafiles
  113.     to the new subdirectory.
  114.  
  115.     You must copy:

  117.     Appt.isd
  118.     Appt.isf
  119.     Appt.ism
  120.     Appt.isp (only if you have one)
  121.  
  122.     ToDoList.isd
  123.     ToDoList.isf
  124.     ToDoList.ism

  141. SPECIAL NOTE FOR Version 3.x Upgrade Users:
  142.  
  143. The first time that you start the new version. It will ask you if it is OK to
  144. convert your datafiles to the new format.  Once, you convert these files they
  145. may NOT be used with a previous version of Time & Chaos, so DO NOT DELETE your
  146. old datafiles until you are sure that you love the new version.
