- CodeFind 1.04
-
- UK CodeFind, version 1.04 copyright 1995 Mark Adams, Acemake Computers.
-
- Find where that Phone Number is!!
- Find The Number for an Exchange or Town!!
- What PostCode Area is that Number in??
- What County is that Number in??
-
-
- CodeFind V1.04 is a simple utility which will return the name of the
- corresponding town when passed a STD code, or will return the
- corresponding STD code when passed a town. In addition it might,
- repeat might <g>, show you the corresponding county and postcode.
-
- As I understand it BT are aiming to rationalise the STD codes to
- 5 figure format eg 01685. This version of Codefind therefore
- utilises the most significant 5 digits which as far as I can see
- is enough to find any place in the UK. If anybody wants a copy
- with all the extra digits in then just ask when you register and
- we will include it free of charge.
-
- CodeFind is capable of detecting the path to the directory in which
- it has been installed. So provided you keep all its files in the
- same place and put that directory in your path statement, Codefind
- can be called from any place and it will still work.
-
- INSTALLATION & USE.
-
- Copy all files into a suitable directory, e.g. c:\code
-
- In DOS
- ======
-
- Add the code directory (eg c:\code) to your path statement and reboot
- your machine.
-
- To use CodeFind in Dos type ' code ????? ' where ????? is the area
- code you wish to know the location of, or, the name of the town, city or
- exchange that you wish to know the number of. Typing a partial name
- will give you all the places that begin with those letters (eg Aber will
- find Aberdare, Aberdeen etc etc). Please note that partial names must
- consist of 3 or more letters. If your place name has an embedded space
- then just enclose it in quotation marks eg CODE "ST ALBANS".
-
-

- either the code number that you wish to find the location of, or, the
- town, city, or exchange that you wish to find the number of. Once the
- information you require has been displayed then press any key to return.

- O/S2
- ====
-
- If you are clever enough to be running OS/2 then you ought to be clever
- enough to install this <g>. It goes something like this - get a
- Program Template from the Template Folder and drag it onto the
- desktop. Right click on it to set its properties. Enter the file
- and path to the executable, give the template a name, tell it to
- close window on exit and ask for a parameter.
-
- If that doesn't help you try send Email to my OS/2 guru Dave Pearson
- internet address below.
