  1. Landscape Plant Manager Version 1.91

  3.           Thank you for obtaining a copy of the Landscape Plant Manager.  I
  4.           hope the program will be of use to you in your work.
  5.  
  6.           The Landscape Plant Manager is a plant selection program
  7.           developed for use by students in horticulture curriculums,
  8.           members of the landscape industry and homeowners.
  9.  
  10.           Through various menus within the program, one can store and
  11.           retrieve information on plants used in the landscape.  The main
  12.           feature of the Landscape Plant Manager is the ability to find
  13.           plants in a data file based on 1 to 24 different criteria
  14.           including such characteristics as form, height, spread and
  15.           hardiness zone.  Depending on memory and disk storage capacity, a
  16.           Landscape Plant Manager data file can hold from 500 to 5000
  17.           different landscape plants.

  19.           This shareware software currently requires an IBM PC or true
  20.           compatible computer with a minimum of 256 kilobytes of memory and
  21.           one floppy disk drive. A memory capacity of 256 kilobytes or
  22.           larger with a hard disk or larger capacity floppy is preferred.

  24.           If you do find the program useful, I hope you can make a $50.00
  25.           donation to the Agricultural Technical Institute/Ohio State
  26.           University Development fund.  Your donation will go towards the
  27.           purchase of hardware and software for use in teaching and
  28.           training our students about computer technology and use in
  29.           horticulture. Some of the money will also be used to further
  30.           enhance the Landscape Plant Manager and to develop other programs
  31.           for use in the landscape industry.

  33.           To use the Landscape Plant Manager, please make a copy of the
  34.           original disk and use the copy.  Please consult your Disk
  35.           Operating System manual on copy procedures.  The disk can be made
  36.           self booting by installing DOS on your copy disk before
  37.           transferring the LPM files to the copy disk.

  39.           The following files should be on your disk:

  41.                LPMREAD.ME  This file you are currently reading.
  42.                LPM.BAT     A batch file to start LPM.
  43.                LPM191.EXE  The LPM main program
  44.                LPMDEMO.DAT LPM demonstration data file. Needs index files.
  45.                LPMDEMO.SIX Index to the LPM demonstration data file.
  46.                LPMDEMO.CIX Index to the LPM demonstration data file.
  47.                LPM191.TXT  The LPM manual.

  49.           If any of these files are missing, you can request a complete set
  50.           of files from the author by sending a disk with prepaid return
  51.           mailer.

  53.           To print the manual, type the command:

  74.           then use Ctrl-S to temporarily halt scrolling and Ctrl-Break to
  75.           stop scrolling.

  77.           At the prompt type: LPM to start the batch file or LPM191 to
  78.           directly run the program.

  80.           Any files ending in .DAT, .CIX, .SIX are demonstration data
  81.           files.
