- HoverTank, from here on out refered to as HTank, is your simple minded
- game where you are a Hover Tank and you go around hunting your foe.
- You start out at either a random or predetermined location, depending
- on the map that you are on.
-
- HTank was written in C and Assembley. It was written in 386+ code so
- you must have a 386+ to play. Sorry, but if you don't have this then
- go out and buy cooler stuff.
-
- The game isn't that hard, really. From the first screen you have many
- options. They are as follows:
-
- Play - Play against another player
- Either two keyboard or one keyboard and one joystick
- Drone
- Play - Play the drone at the set levels that are shown here
- Speed - Adjust the speed at which the drone moves
- Rate - Adjust the rate at which the drone shoots
- Atti - Adjust the drones attitude (less is less agressive
- i.e. run away mode.)
-
- NOTICE: THE DRONE IS TO BE USED AS PRACTICE ONLY! We didn't intend
- for this to be a one player game. So find one of your
- friends to play with and kill each other! (Mucho grande)
-
- In the registered version there will be an improved and smarter drone.
-
- Joystick
- Player - Changes the player that is assigned to use the joystick
- Center - Centers the joystick
-
- Keys
- Change - Change the keys that the keyboard people use
- WARNING: Eating pork after each meal will eventually give you worms if
- the pork isn't cooked, and some key combinations will work
- better than others. Play around and find the one that works
- best for you. (We suggest one player uses the joystick, this
- make everything easier.)
-
- Save - Save the settings for the keys, and the joystick and the
- all the other options.
-
- Load - Load the saved setting if you have changed anything since
- loading
-
- Options
- Map - Change the map to different ones. (More in the registered
- version, and can edit own.)
- Walls - Change the number of non-shootable walls on map (Random map only)
- Rock - Change the number of shootable walls on map (Random map only)
- Bombs - Change the number of bombs on map (Random map only)
-
- When you are finally in the game, whether or not it is with the drone or
- not, all you have to do is hunt your foe and kill them. There are a few
- things that help you in this mission. One thing is the mines. They are
- the grey and red things that are distributed throughout the map. One
- stragety that you might use is to hurl you foe into a mine to take away
- part of his life-force. But, watch out, he can WARP into another plane
- of existance (actually another part of the map) and you might just hurl
- yourself into the mine. Oh yeah, you are probably wondering about what
- WARP is. It's just that, you can warp to another part of the screen,
- but you only have a limited number (Kind of like limited hyperspace).
-
- The score is added up each time someone dies, then just press F1 or F2 to
- restart, with the same score, and see how high of a score you and your
- pal can get. If you leave the game, i.e. go back to the main menu, the
- score is reset and when you play again the scores will be 0.
-
- So have fun playing...
