  9. Ok, here's the scoop.  I had several pointers that I wanted to use, but
  10. they were all in WB 1.3's system-configuration format.  Well, I was running
  11. under 2.0 now and couldn't get any program to change them, and SetPrefs &
  12. Prefs would change the screen colors, etc, but not the pointers.  So
  13. finally, I dug out the specs and made a quicky ARexx program to convert all
  14. my pointers into the new PREF's format.  It took some work (I'm not a
  15. programmer, yet(?)), but here's the result.

  17. Now I'll bet your asking, "Why the heck are there 2 more archives in this
  18. thing."  Well, good question.  These archives are not compress, simply
  19. stored (-lh0-).  After compressing, I didn't like the size of the archive
  20. (95,144 bytes), but I remembered a tip from the LHA doc file.  Store
  21. everything into one big file, and compress that.  Well, the result is now
  22. only 56 K for the pointers & Icons. Much better.

  24. There are two ways for you to pick out a pointer you like.  First, for the
  25. Workbench orientated, unpack both Pointers.lha, and Icons.lha.  They will
  26. unarc into a directory called Pointers.  Then just open the drawer and pick
  27. which pointer you like.  Each icon is a 16 color icon and the palette for
  28. viewing them is included, so just double-click on the palette, then the
  29. icon, and there's your new pointer.

  31. For those who don't like all those icons, just look at the picture
  32. "All_The_Pointers".  That's all of them.  Just figure out which row it's on
  33. and look in the file "Pointer_Index".  Just type "Pointer <file> Use" from
  34. Cli to load it up and there you go.

  36. Finally, the file "Credit_Where_It's_Due" tells who made the pointers, if I
  37. was at all able to find out.
