  3. This is prototype software for a help/consulting system called Answer
  4. Garden.  Below is a very short description:
  5. <P>
  6.    Answer Garden allows groups to develop databases of commonly asked
  7.    questions that grow "organically" as new questions arise and are
  8.    answered.  It is designed to help in situations (such as field service
  9.    organizations and customer "hot lines") where there is a continuing
  10.    stream of questions, many of which occur over and over, but some of
  11.    which the group has never seen before.  The system includes a
  12.    branching network of diagnostic questions, as well as facilities for
  13.    other retrieval engines, to help users find the answers they want.  If
  14.    the answer is not present, the system automatically sends the question
  15.    to the appropriate expert, and the expert returns the answer as well
  16.    as inserts it into the branching network.  Thus, the information
  17.    database of answers and diagnostic questions grows over time.  Experts
  18.    can also modify this network and database in response to users'
  19.    problems.
