  7. The 4693PXN offers brilliant 300 DPI color PostScript and HP-GL printing to
  8. UNIX network users. Using a thermal wax printing process, the printer can
  9. produce letter or legal size images (A4 or A4 Special metric sizes) on paper or
  10. overhead transparency film in as little as one minute
  11.  
  12. The printer accepts PostScript or HP-GL files from multiple systems sent via
  13. the UNIX "lpr" command. Any PostScript font (Type 1 or Type 3) can be
  14. downloaded to the printer. The printer's standard configuration includes 6 MB
  15. or RAM, expandable to a total of 10 MB. Both thin and thick wire Ethernet
  16. connectors allow maximum flexibility in placing the printer anywhere on your
  17. network

  19. In addition to its Ethernet interface, the printer may be connected to other
  20. machines and networks via serial and AppleTalk protocols. A unique feature of
  21. the printer is the ability to automatically switch between these ports allowing
  22. simultaneous use from a variety of environments.
