  7. The Rimfire 5600 includes a high-performance, single-ended 32-bit EISA SCSI-2
  8. adapter, SCSI driver software, utility software, installation manuals, and SCSI
  9. cable

  11. An onboard microprocessor offloads the host CPU. A Fast SCSI-2 chip minimizes
  12. SCSI protocol overhead. Dual-ported SRAM, which holds SCSI commands and
  13. scatter/gather tables, further reduces adapter overhead. The UNIX driver
  14. provides optimal algorithms for maximizing disk throughput through read-ahead
  15. caching, and command sorting and combining. The adapter supports bus master
  16. DMA. Multithreading and multitasking allow simultaneous processing of multiple
  17. requests. Both initiator and target modes are supported. The adapter provides
  18. SCSI data transfers up to 10 MB per second and supports SCSI disconnect and
  19. reselect.
