  7. The Rimfire 5500 includes a high-performance, single-ended 16-bit ISA SCSI
  8. adapter, SCSI driver software, utility software, installation manuals, and SCSI
  9. cable

  11. An onboard microprocessor offloads the host CPU. Dual-ported SRAM, which holds
  12. SCSI commands and scatter/gather tables, reduces adapter overhead. The UNIX
  13. driver provides optimal algorithms for maximizing disk throughput through
  14. read-ahead caching, and command sorting and combining. The adapter supports bus
  15. master DMA at transfer rates to 10 MB per second and slave DMA. Multithreading
  16. and multitasking allow simultaneous processing of multiple requests. Both
  17. initiator and target modes are supported. The adapter provides SCSI data
  18. transfers up to 5 MB per second and supports SCSI disconnect and reselect. A
  19. floppy port provides compatibility with 3.5-inch and 5.25-inch drives.
