  7. The SCSI driver will support the 21-MB, 3 1/2-inch Floptical Drive under XENIX
  8. and UNIX systems. The 21-MB disk drive brings a positive combination of optical
  9. and magnetic memory technology.

  11. This Floptical/Optical system reads and writes data by shining an infrared
  12. light emitted from an LED through the hole of a read/write head, illuminating
  13. the disk surface. The disk surface reflects the LED light back through an
  14. optical tube onto a photo detector. The photo detector then translates the
  15. optical image into an electrical signal. With this technology, the 3 1/2-inch
  16. floppy format brings the capacity of 21 MB per disk.
